The hotel is in a good location near the sea and a short distance from the town centre. In its day it would have been a fabulous and grand hotel to stay in. It has been redecorated and has a certain charm to it.
It is certainly good value for money and we could not complain with the breakfast offering included in the room price. Staff were polite and helpful.
The bed was comfortable and nice plentiful pillows were appreciated. The bathroom was clean and windows that opened enough to allow fresh air in to rooms were good.
Off-road Parking outside the main hotel door is very convenient.
The bathroom door is a sliding door which can not lock, this was not ideal for my two teenagers. The bidet was not operational in the bathroom which seemed odd. There was no evening meal available on the night we stayed but we were able to eat in a neighbouring hotel, sadly the food there was not great but I am sure during the season the hotel provides evening meals.

It was a beautiful place with gorgeous views over the sea. There were lots of places to sit and enjoy the view. The rooms were comfortable and clean.
The seats in the dinning room were quite tired although comfortable. They either need replacing or reupholstered.

We are return visitors for a reason; the staff truly make this place. The building is incredible, the location and views are amazing, food is great but the staff are why we come back, they bring such a homely and welcoming vibe to the place.

The staff were nice and the hotel ideal for what I needed. The evening meals were ok but perhaps suffered from the fact that the best restaurant in Lossiemouth was just over the road. All in all a good place to stay.
Evening meal options.

A childhood dream realised - I visited Lossie to stay with relatives every year but secretly hankered after a room in the Stotfield Hotel.
Everything was great

Very friendly hotel family run and some character. Upper floor front rooms have good view of the coast.
No hot water in the morning which is never a good sign and this was between 8 and 9 so a regular slot.
But real room for improvement is breakfast which is pretty basic and dull and could easily be improved with just a few options like a poached egg or a bit of salmon or something. Or a kipper. If you've got a chef there to do the breakfast you could extend yourself a little bit as this is real 1950s stripped back plastic egg stuff at the moment with undercooked sausage and hash browns.
Also they've got a great restaurant room with windows looking out over to the front but instead serve the breakfast in a not terribly attractive room within the hotel. An easy improvement to make.
I like the hotel just needs a little bit of imaginative management to make it a more enjoyable stay without much money being spent.

Staff friendly and helpful. The view from our room was amazing. Heating in our room just at the right level. I liked the non fussy decor. Evening meal was tasty.
Had to ask about WiFi. Could just have had a wee note on the information sheet.

The view from our room was lovely we looked onto the golf course and sea. The bar was nice and the food was ok, the portions are massive. (To big for me)
Our room was small, dated & not very clean, it was rather ruff around the edges so to speak. Also the shower was rubbish.

Loved the location and the room was huge ha nice window views and fan as asked for.
Checkin and out nice and easy and welcoming. Staff coukdn't be more helpful.
The room was very big and smelt of bleach our whole stay. The sink was tiny too in room 131 and my husband didnt bother shaving as a result of tiny sink.
1st morning we were a bit late 8.55am for breakfast and hash browns were solid like they had been lying for a while in heated containers.
We had dinner on Tuesday 21st Oct as it was my birthday we have had dinner before but were disappoibted that the 26 pound hotel deal has gone used to be a main and pudding and a drink and it was replaced with 22 pound no drink and as my husband has steak he didnt benefit from deal so felt bad for having steak it put a damper on things. Even if he coukd have got his pudding half price. I myself only saved 1.50 with deal.I always have veg pie and it uaually comes in a dish with pastry on top but it was all lying out in a bowl more like stew than a pie.
Food tasted great but just presentation and deal value found slightly disappointing our bill was 65 pounds for 2 juices, 2 mains, 2 puddings and onion rings.
On 2nd morning cleaner to room failed to top up our toilet roll and we had to ask for this to be done. Felt this was poor paying 89 pound a night per room.
This is our 3rd visit to the hotel and felt somewhat disappointed this time.

A bit tired hotel near Lossiemouth famous beaches and coastal path in a beatiful Victorian building. Spacious, clean room and tasty breakfast. Helpfull and accomodating staff.
Tiny sink in the bathroom suitable to wash hands only. The rooms was a bit staffy but the window was difficult to open.

Hotel had no elevator. For the first night were put in a room at the top floor. This meant tramping up 4 flights of stairs to reach it
Staff realised we were pensioners so moved us down to first floor for the second night.

Staff were all really helpful and rooms very comfortable had everything you would need and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was good and cleanliness was exceptional. Very good value for money and staff were friendly a really good stay
Can't think of anything - pushing it to say would be helpful to have a lift but not essential.

Good location. Staff were friendly. Parking outside. Hotel was a fixture of new & old. Reception, bar, restaurant updated but there was parts of the lounge where it definitely needed some work done. (Eg water stains & cracks on ceiling & down the walls.
The ensuite bathroom. It had a sliding door, which had a gap either side of the door. Meaning not a lot of privacy. The room was small but tidy & clean. The window looked out onto windows on the opposite site of the hotel.

The bedrooms were tired and in need of redecorating our colleagues room had leaks from plumbing

The staff made us most welcome. My husband is coeliac and he was well catered for. The food was very good. A wide menu. The towels were replaced regularly.
No bedrooms on the ground floor. A staircase took us to the first floor where our room was at the end of long corridors. The toilet/ shower room was rather cramped. This well maintained elderly hotel would not be suitable for people with poor mobility.
