Really friendly staff. Great facilities.

Breakfast second day not the best. Service slow and repeatedly had to keep asking for things. Scrambled eggs were lovely but cold. Shame at £66 for two.

I loved my visit last year so when I had to book another night down in Devon I decided to come back again

Location and grounds are excellent

The food (lunch and dinner) was not great given the price. The margarita pizza was disappointing - for over £18 you expect a home made base. The bbq was underwhelming starters were a mixed bag, the salads were tired and the mains, both pork and brisket were over cooked. Cocktails were poor with multiple ingredients missing. Breakfast was good.

Staff were so friendly. Especially Scott from the restaurant, Tyler and waiter and the masseuse Daisy. They were all so amazing and made us felt welcome like at home.

The food at both restaurants leaned more towards presentation than flavour, particularly at Smith. My husband’s steak was unfortunately let down by a peppercorn sauce that had an overpowering chemical smell — so strong it was noticeable from across the table. When we raised this with the manager that evening, he didn’t share our concern, though the sauce was replaced. With much of the steak already inedible by that point, it was a disappointing experience. That said, our bill came in noticeably lower than expected — we believe the steak may have been quietly removed, which was a thoughtful gesture. Our waiter at Smith was genuinely warm and attentive throughout, and that friendliness didn’t go unnoticed.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
