The building was attractive, the staff were welcoming. Would I return? Probably not.

TThe staff wrere very pleasant and welcoming, the room was fine, alhough for £126.00 we expcted more. The breakfast had a veryy good choice and catered for all tastes.The organisation for tea/ coffee/toast making was poor. All of these facilities were squahed in a corner with no where to queue without getting in another guest's way. Surely, tea and coffee pots per table should be the norm at this type of establishment.

The late checkin and early check out was not to our expections, we are used to a longer period within the hotel and grounds. This was diappointing.

Nothing in particular. I received at least 3 unnecessary message before the stay which was irritating and there is absolutely no need to check in online and provide personal information such as e mail/dob etc when booking through booking.com.

Excellent value in beautiful surroundings cannot fault it.

Breakfast was excellent as was the dining room. Room was lovely. Although it was winter it was clear that there is a lot of attention to the grounds and gardens. The interiors were lovely with lots of very interesting framed artefacts in the reception area and halls. Overall a very beautiful environment. We will definitely stay again when visiting family in the area.

The service was excellent, the food very good and the bed comfortable.

We thought the room facilities were quite basic and somewhat dated. On our second night we were disturbed by other guests at 12.30am, continuing their party in the corridor before dispersing to their own rooms. No consideration for other people. The food from the restaurant was very good.

The room smelt of stale tobacco, there wasn't a hairdryer, and the decor was dated.

Cleanliness of room, particularly bathroom. Room appeared a little warn. Toilet reservoir didn't fill immediately following flush, took some time before it could be flushed again. Body hair found on toilet seat and in bath on entry to room.

Pleasant & comfortable good value

The location was perfect for us to visit family, there was a wedding on which did not disturb us and the communal areas are nicely presented. Breakfast was delicious and a great selection cooked to order. Nice toiletries and tea selection in room.

The hairdryer is not available in the room, you have to request it at reception, which would be good to know at check in. We were told at breakfast we had booked room only, which wasn't correct, and there wasn't anyone readily available to explain how it worked - but once we worked it out it was great.

A Perfect Festive Getaway

Absolutely loved our stay at Statham Lodge Hotel on the 20th! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with gorgeous Christmas decorations that made it feel extra special. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the facilities were excellent. Breakfast was delicious and a real highlight. Highly recommend – we’ll definitely be back!

When you arrive in the rain, a warm, comfortable room is all you need. We got that and more. A lovely venue. Staff are attentive and helpful. Having an on-site bar and restaurant is a bonus.

Our room had a wet room, we were not expecting that. The floor then stayed wet following a shower. Duvet quite flimsy for the time of year.

Convenient location and clean. Food was good especially dinner. Staff friendly and helpful.

Room (34) was clean but shabby. No towel rail or heating in the en-suite. TV remote didn’t work, probably flat batteries. Having to go outside in the cold to get from our room to the bar and dining area.

Thought the selection offered for breakfast was good value for money and was very tasty. The staff I had dealings with were very friendly and courteous.

Altogether my stay was one I want to repeat.

Wi-Fi signal was excellent and everything else was excellent too. In particular cleanliness was exceptional and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Parking was easy and free and although the M6 noise was loud outside the hotel the soundproofing meant inside was unaffected.

Lovely bar and restaurant - the food was exceptional, locally sourced and tasty...and very good value for money. Will definitely be back!

There was a wedding party and many attended breakfast - the waitresses were run off their feet and perhaps were short on staff that morning.

Excellent food and staff let down by poor quality accommodation and lack of modern features.

The evening meal menu and food was exceptionally good - these far exceeded expectations. The staff were excellent.

The room (35) was like a 1980s time capsule. The bathroom had leakage and ventilation issues and smelled badly of damp and mould - even with the room window open all night. There was no hot water on two out of the three mornings - I stepped into a cold bath on one of the mornings, which comes as a shock to the system at 7:00. The room lighting is inadequate - and there were no USB sockets in the (executive!) room. A fridge would have been nice.

A nice hotel spoilt by the frosty reception!

Basically, i was met by a rather miserable receptionist. She asked for my credit card, I said the payment has already been made and confirmed. Her response was this is for any extras you might spend in the bar. I said I am not going to have any extars in the bar. Her reply if you have breakfast that is not included. I said I don't plan to have breakast. She then looked at me like a prison warden lost for words. Unbeknown to her I was in the area for a surgical procedure which did not allow consumption of anything for 24 hrs. I found the whole "reception" quite offensive. Basically been treated like a potential thief who is going to do a runner without paying. If I had a drink at the bar I would have paid the bar bill, if I had decided to take breakfast I would have paid for it. Most dissappoointing as the hotel seemed quite nice. I would like to see a menu before being intgerrogated by the Gestapo!
