Comfortable just needs a fridge

It was comfy and the rooms very clean

Would have been perfect if there was a fridge. Also the bar wasn’t open due to building works going on. Ik that’s no one’s fault

Large Free Carpark at rear

Everything else. Non smoking hotel but room absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke, had to go down and ask for room freshener as it was giving me a headach. Mattress was dead, you could feel all the springs through it and when you sat on it you’d sink and hit the bottom so zero support and not to mention the noise coming from it. Oh and the stains! It’s not a hotel quality mattress, more a a cheap household mattress. Then the linen, holes and tears in them, don’t fit properly on the mattress, some stains in them, spare pillows had no covers on them and the pillows that did if they were like the spares they had marks, stains etc all on them. The shower hose was broken and was spraying water EVERYWHERE when I used the shower. That’s the point I called it a day (after being in there 2 hours max) and checked out. Went to the holiday Inn instead. When checking out did tell the man at the desk why I was leaving and he seemed disappointed but these issues shouldn’t exist in a hotel.

The day are booked out

The room was cold, moist the side lights on the side of the bed and over the table has no lightbulbs in. Wires hanging down from the television dangerously, to brush all of the clean toilet no brush, the sink not only not a plug but where the plug should go was broken I could go on.

Unfortunately didn't meat expectations

The hotel was a good location for visiting the grand theatre and a 15min walk into the city. The staff were very friendly. The room was a good size for an overnight stay.

The bed was really. Hard. Didn't get a good night's sleep because of inconsiderate people staying in room next door who were up all night smoking something illegal and smell kept coming into our room. Couldn't go downstairs and speak to staff about noise from other room as had daughter with me with asd who couldn't be left in room on her own. I'm sorry wouldn't stay again unfortunately

Cheap room for the night

Lots of building work going on so the room smelled of plaster. The window in the bathroom was cracked badly, the shower head holder was broken so impossible to use. Other guest were very, very loud into the night (2am still laughing and shouting) and then someone slammed a door shut at 4am.

Budget hotel but money is being spent on it to make an excellent event (wedding, birthday) venue.

Will be a lovely hotel when the refurb is finished. Too much old and new stuff going on. Feel the hotel has all the ideas to make it a lovely hotel with a fantastic events room. Positive comment: the linen was crisp and clean. Lovely new carpet in our room. Bathroom very clean, but mould in shower. Added bonus of secure car park.

Squeaky bed, with springs popping. Mismatched curtain. Paper-thin walls. Wouldn't want to stay here if there was an event in their hall as the noise would be a nightmare if you wern't at the event!

The bed was comfy. Free parking and they locked the gates at night which was good due to the location. Clean bedding and towels. Despite the bad points you do get what you pay for.

Room was dusty. Kettle was dinted. Shower head would not stay up because it was broken. Mattress was covered in stains. Only noted in the morning after the sheets had moved overnight. Carpet was stained. Steps at the front of the hotel were a trip hazard as they were broken.

The state of the room.. looked like a crack den.. mattress on floor bed lining was ripped and had dirt mark and stains… plug hanging off wall dangerous.. heater on the wall was hanging off. Lights in bathroom didn’t work.. ask reception to get it fixed he goes can’t do anything

TV was sitting on the floor when we arrived and they couldn't repair it or put it back on the wall as they had no staff. The room smelt of cigarettes. it was a terrible room, will never stay there again.

The location was ideal. It was near enough to the town and to the event I was attending. Included parking was nice enough, not exactly a unique selling point though. Netflix included on the TV was actually really cool, I appreciated that.

I understand renovations are often necessary, but they should be advertised whether they be being done on the site of the hotel itself or next door. Was quite noisey as a result. As well as that, the lift was out of order. Again, sometimes can't be helped but if someone has accessibility needs there is no warning of this anywhere until you arrive. The car parking was not secured as advertised. It was on a street around the back of the location with no gate for the entrance. When I see advertised a 'secure' carpark I expect it to be secured. The tap in the bathroom was loose and I half expected it to fall off when I used it. The tea/coffee station had no tea or coffee. Just milk and sugar next to a kettle. What is the point of that?

Moved rooms 3 times due to tv not working. The hotel was rough and run down, every room had something not working. When I eventually got a room with a working tv the bedside light didn’t work. Mattresses in the car park and this hotel was surrounded by flats. Definitely worse than I was expecting. Won’t be staying here again.

Bed was clean and nicely made.

This hotel needs a serious refurb. Toilet brush broken and dirty, shower broken, light in bathroom not working, electric towel rails broken with wires exposed. Carpet in the stairs leading to the bedroom needs sticking down, areas of the hotel need a clean. I asked if there was somewhere that could be recommended to get some breakfast and the man behind the desk in the morning said I should just go to the town centre. Given that they have no facility to provide breakfast I would have thought that something slightly more helpful would have been useful.

The most serious issue was accessibility. The lifts were out of order, leaving my disabled partner with no choice but to attempt the stairs. This is unacceptable, unsafe, and demonstrates a complete disregard for guests with accessibility needs. In addition, the room itself had poor access and was extremely noisy. I could hear constant footsteps from other guests, and on the first night, an event ran late into the evening with bass vibrating through the walls until at least 11:30 pm. Basic soundproofing measures, such as sound-deadening panels, have clearly not been considered. Overall, the experience was deeply disappointing. I will not be returning and would strongly caution others — particularly those requiring accessible facilities — against staying here.

Terrible

Absolutely nothing. Well at first it seemed ok. Until at 12-2am I had someone try to break into my room! I tried contacting the front desk but didn’t get through. My friend had to call them! She told them what was happening and they kept waffling on about cctv. They then came to check on me and I told them about the dodgy door frame etc and they didn’t give a damn! Didn’t even offer me another room as the doorframe didn’t make me feel safe! Don’t even get me started on the stained sheets. As someone who travelled from south wales I wouldn’t recommend to ANYONE!
