Room was clean and spacious. Location was away from traffic and quiet. Bed was comfortable
Lack of menu details available for breakfast or the restaurant. Breakfast was not included in the room cost so it would have been helpful to see a menu to know if I wanted to pre-book breakfast for the next day. As it was, we didn't risk it. Also the tea and coffee making facilities were a bit stingy - one teabag isn't going to go very far between 2 people - glad I brought my own with me.

The Reception lady went out of her way to help us. The staff were very friendly
The mix up with rooms as there had been an issue with people's bookings , we arrived at 4.30pm to be told no room was ready. We were offered a room to get ready in, as we were going to a concert. Told the room would be ready when we can back about 11pm which it was. The Reception lady did everything she could to ensure we were ok but obviously this isn't an ideal situation and the room we were taken into was cold and not the cleanest it was apparently a room for staff. Was better than nothing and some people were told there was no room there for them!! Breakfast we ordered beans and cheese on toast arrived only just warm which was disappointing, didn't complain as the lady was busy waiting on the other tables.

Location and cleanliness.
Single glazed windows. Therefore, an additional heater was required.

Location. With a bit of TLC it could be an exceptional hotel. The proportion of the building is nice.
It was cold 🥶 windows not sealed whole place looks like it has fallen on hard times.

The place was clean. Staff were very pleasant.
This is not a hotel in the normally understood term of the word. It is not open all day. I arrived in Wolverhampton earlier than expected and went to Ely House Hotel to drop off my luggage for storage until I could check into my room in the afternoon. The building was totally locked up. It seems they close after breakfast each day (approx 9.30am) and do not reopen until 3pm.
The corridors to the rooms are quite narrow and I had to go up one stairs and then down another to get to my room. It definitely would not be suitable for an elderly person.
The room was basic and with not a lot of space. The TV was very small screen.
This place struck me to be a large townhouse, of a vintage design, that has been converted to provide hotel accommodation. But it is not really a hotel. It is better described as an upmarket bed & breakfast.

Very clean. Staff polite. Free carpark. Decent breakfast.
No tea making facility in the room - although i did see at checkout that this can be requested.
No lock on bathroom door - not an issue for this trip as with my son but could be awkward if with friends or work colleagues.

Excellent hotel. The rooms can be fairly basic, however they are very clean and comfortable. Staff always friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Breakfast is fantastic, freshly cooked, great choices, good coffee, lovely dining room. Such a lovely difference compared to the impersonal chain hotels. Highly recommended
Nothing, they have nailed it.

The room was adequate for our one night stay and the price was very reasonable. Adequate parking with no problem getting a space. After we checked out we wanted to go for breakfast in the town, as we did not get up in time for breakfast on site as it was very early. We were allowed to keep the car in the car park until out return, which saved us having to find parking elsewhere. Excellent location as we were going to see Level 42 in the Civic Hall, which was only approx 20 minute walk to the venue, and we went for something to eat at the Slug and Lettuce.
We were on the third floor (no lift) which we were unaware of when we booked, and the stairs very fairly steep, so could prove a problem for the less mobile.

This was just an overnight stop between cities we had to go to for work, so while the hotel was not a luxury hotel, it was perfectly adequate and served our purpose well.

the beds were really comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. The reception member was pleasant and helpful. Really enjoyed the breakfast and was just right. Cooked to order. Plenty of parking and gates locked at night for security.
no one on reception when leaving even though rang the bell and called out a number of times. Left key at front desk. steps in bedroom as you enter should have a warning sign on bedroom door.

Upon arrival, I was impressed with my interaction with the the Hotel Manager and the booking in process was quick and efficient.
My room was well prepared for my arrival. As my visit coincided with a heatwave, it was a pleasant surprise to see that the hotel had provided a portable fan - which did a fantastic job of keeping the room cool!
My bed was very comfortable, the pillows were on the soft side, but that is just a personal preference.
The shower worked well and the provided toiletries were pleasant.
A minor 'plus' point was that the hair dryer was located besides a mirror, which as daft as it might sound definitely helps!
Ely House is ideally situated - the town centre is just 20 minutes walk, and my room (which was towards the back of the hotel, was reasonably quite.)
It would have been nice to have decaf coffee sachets as an option, but that is a really minor point.
