Casa Dei Pittori Venice Apartments

This is a truly authentic Venetian stay. The accommodation is in the heart of the city, about a 10 min walk to the Rialto Bridge and 20 mins to St Marks Square. We stayed in Veronese; which is a double and 2 singles across two bedrooms. The beds are fairly comfortable, though the mattress is quite firm. The pillows are comfortable. Communication with the staff was excellent. Incredibly responsive, friendly and accommodating. The air conditioning was a welcome relief.

Really very little. Some of the furniture is a bit dated, but it was perfectly comfortable.

Location is excellent, the actual apartment is an old palace converted into apartments and was very clean and well appointed. All living and bedrooms had A/C which was needed in the heat.

On the water. Lorenzo was a fantastic host.

Beds were a little hard.

It was easy. The location is great. We walked from the train station and loved walking around the canals to restaurants and to get the water taxis.

I booked the apartment based on the photos of the balcony overlooking the canal and chairs on it. However, we did not have a balcony, only windows. I saw one small balcony out our window but it was so small I don't see how it could have matched the photos on the site. I messaged the owner, and they said they normally will text a renter if they receive an apartment without a balcony and let me know that they didn't do this with us. Also, I understand that they're going for "authentic Roman decor" but really the upholstery was just old and I wondered how clean it was. We stayed in other apartments during our visit through Italy that were going for the same vibe, and I felt they were cleaner than the comforter and chairs in this unit. The beds were ROCK HARD. Even a pillowtop could have helped.
