a beautiful property with a great view from dining room and terrace ( for restaurant); Wonderful breakfast selection with fresh produce from their expansive gardens.
room was small and in need of refreshing. room would get very stuffy while out, due to key operated AC/electricity power.

Great staff - extremely friendly and helpful.
Great location - close to everything we wanted to be close to.
Great restaurant - Francesco A was an especially fiendly and enthusiastic member of staff.
There were many noisy and disruptive wedding guests. 3 nights out of the 6 were disrupted by other guests snashing around, shouting, at 12-3 in the morning.
The only other negative was that we had no coffee or milk in the room. We had instructions for how to use a coffee machine, but no coffee machine. And we had English breakfast tea, but no milk. So overall, no way to make any morning drinks.

There are a lot of steps in Ravello in general, if you want fewer steps and closer access to pool stay at their sister property, but I was very happy at Villa Maria!

This is an outstanding hotel that far exceeded expectations. We have stayed in Ravello and the Amalfi coast over the years in a variety of places from budget to 5 star (Palazzo Avino). Villa Maria is head and shoulders above the competition. The setting, view, ambience, restaurant and outstanding service from staff are all 10/10. We felt like we had "come home" from the moment we arrived, with such warmth and hospitality from all the staff. The menu and wine list are also outstanding, but they also have some less expensive items too, so you could have say a 4 course fine dining outstanding formal meal (with a fabulous wine list the size of a mediaeval bible) at over 100 euros each, or a caesar salad for 20 euros. We made the mistake one evening of dining at Palazzo Avino (having stayed there 15 years ago when it was Palazzo Sasso). We found that to be a distinctly underwhelming experience by comparison with its former self from the Palazzo Sasso era. Poor quality food masquerading as michelin-starred nouvelle cuisine, service was good but formulaic and without the warmth and charm of Villa Maria, and vastly overpriced.
I genuinely cannot fault this hotel. I suppose if I had to criticise I would say that when booking online I had not appreciated that the swimming pool was not actually at the hotel, but at the sister hotel Giordano which is a few minutes walk down a hill. If you are holidaying with children and want to be in and out of the pool all day then Giordano would be a better choice perhaps.

Amazing location. Beautiful hotel. The staff were so attentive and everything was exceptional.

Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful and the room was very nice. The restaurant was lovely and the breakfasts were great.
The pool was a little too far away and by the time we made it back to Villa Maria, we were hot and sweaty after the climb back up.
Having to pay additional money for the use of an iron, which is standard in most hotel rooms, seemed ridiculous to us and the laundry service seemed more expensive than we have seen in other 4-5 star hotels.

We are glad to visit Ravello. The atmosphere was great. The staff were professional , kind and helpful. The breakfast was relatively good.
The location of hotel was far from center of Ravello which could be challenging , especially for guest who might have difficulty in walking . The bus services to Amalfi and back was busy especially in Amalfi. We will recommend this property for guest who would like to relax in montainous countryside of South of Italy.

Stunning location. Beautiful hotel decor. Exceptional service at the restaurant for dinner and lovely food.
For the price you pay for a room at the hotel I feel it was lacking in some minor detail. The tea and coffee services in room could have been better.

Beautiful area in which this hotel is nestled away in. Took a while to find it as it’s in a pedestrian only area but we enjoyed the sightseeing. Beautiful hotel with chandeliers in the main area and black and white checkered floors. Our room wasn’t as nice but we opted for the cheapest one, and received a free upgrade to the next room. Had dinner at the hotel with breathtaking views and breakfast included in the morning which you can order hot items for free if you ask. Overall ideal location close to shops, restaurants, the gardens and cathedrals! Had the most amazing gelato at a near by shop and of course some yummy wine at a local wine store! Make sure you visit the gardens as they're only a quick walk away! Definitely worth seeing and spending at least one night in this beautiful town!
Parking. We had a rental car and it took a very long time to find the hotel. We finally parked the car and walked until we made it there then had to move the car by driving through a pedestrian only area (which was scary on such narrow streets and so many people) to a garage at another hotel). They were nice enough to carry our luggage for us and meet us back at our hotel as lots of steps and more narrow streets to walk. There are lots of stray cats everywhere in this town. They don’t bother you though thank goodness

Lovely views. Service and food good in the restaurant.
Communal areas very pleasant and nicely decorated.
Very basic bedroom. Bathroom lovely. The bedroom furniture was mismatched and old, scratched, worn, one item broken with numerous cup ring stains. I note in the reviews several people remarking about the furniture. The response from the hotel being that the furniture is antique. This so called antique furniture needs throwing out. Walls in places badly scratched. The room needed redecorating. Had to ask to be moved to a different room. This next room was fine, furniture still mismatched and one piece had seen better days. Bathroom excellent. If this hotel was cheap I would not have been so concerned but it is a considerable amount of money to stay. It seems such a shame that a lovely hotel lets itself down like this. A little thought from an interior designer would work wonders.
Please also be aware there is a considerable walk up hill/steps from the car park. if you are very elderly or have health issues it may not be for you.
There is also a supplement of 1€ if you want your eggs cooked any way but scrambled, which we found bizarre.

The view were amazing, the staff was accommodating. In one word - lovely! We will definitely return.
It would be hard to come up with something we didn’t like.

This hotel is a gem and worthy of a visit, An old roman villa on the edge of the valley, overlooking the sea, the terrace breakfast is wonderful and the evening meals live up to all acclaim. The sister hotel has a pool (and car parking) and it was great to be able to use these facilities. Being a 10 minute walk into the center of the village places the hotel is a superb spot.
Nothing.

The Staff were rude and hostile and Carmen was a total liar . Unacceptable behaviour to guest. The guest was the enemy.

Beautiful interior. Luxurious. Great and friendly staff.
The restaurant is not in the same league. Beautiful location but unfriendly and churly staff, mediocre food at premium prices and they sold me 3 bottles of wine at premium price - two bottles were almost vinagre.

The room and facility are extremely lovely and cute. The staff in the office are very nice, even welcomed me with "Japanese" :) Very nice. One of the staffs, Tharindu, gave us the exceptional & nice service, taking pictures for us with very friendly manner.. He is so wonderful. Big thank you for him !!
It was not easy to get to the hotel, by driving... The location is wonderful so once it's arrived, there is no problem but to get there, it was not that easy
