Perfect Location, Incredible Service, and Beautiful Views

The hotel is quite serene, with few visitors during our stay, which made it very relaxing. The service was incredible, we were even upgraded for free to a villa with a large balcony overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Everyone was helpful and pleasant, and I want to give a special mention to Head Chef Marko, who provided exceptional service during breakfast, offering a great selection of local and international dishes. I cant thank him enough for making our stay extra special. The in-house restaurant was also fantastic, the Medallion Steak is highly recommended. The sauna, steam room, pool, and jacuzzi are wonderful amenities, we have used it after a long day of walk in the city. Also, the hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the Old Town. Overall, a 10 out of 10 experience!

Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik – A Perfect Stay From Start to Finish

I had an amazing time staying at the Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik. After a stressful car issue in Bosnia forced me to change my plans abruptly and head to Dubrovnik instead of Kotor, the hotel welcomed me with such warmth and professionalism. From the moment I stepped in until the moment I checked out, the service was flawless. The room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and stocked with all the amenities you’d ever need plus thoughtful extras. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything felt clean, premium, and well-maintained. I stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking the Dubrovnik coastline, and it was absolutely worth it. Sitting outside with a view of the Old Town and the endless horizon was truly special. The bathroom was also generous in size, with a large bathtub perfect for soaking after a long day of exploring. Morning breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of high-quality options that tasted just as good as they looked. The location couldn’t be more perfect. It’s an easy and pleasant walk to and from Old Town, making it convenient yet still peaceful. I highly recommend Hotel Excelsior to anyone visiting Dubrovnik. I will definitely return every time I come back.

Wonderful!

Wonderful location, the most wonderful view from the room´s balcony, beautiful room, great staff, great breakfast, wonderful bed, shower, sheets, bath. It was my birthday and the staff put a cake in the room, which was really thoughtful.

It rained a lot in our last day and for some reason there was a bit of a smell of sewage coming from the bathroom. Also, I was expecting the indoor pool to be warmer (not a big issue). Other than that, all wonderful, an unforgettable experience (especially the view!)

Relaxing, restful with the added bonus of beautiful weather!

Location, such a lovely reception area with views across to the city. Our room had a balcony with open views straight out on to the Adriatic!

It was a shame that the only restaurant available for an evening meal was Fine Dining so we only used that option once. We found wonderful places to eat at more affordable places in the city.

A large hotel with the right amenities, unbeatable views and direct access to the ocean. Beautiful view over the ocean and the Old Town. Great breakfast. The whole reception/front of house team was super.

Beautiful hotel in a superb location. Breakfast was exceptional overlooking the old town and the sea. The lounge area by the water was very cool and the indoor pool and different saunas was a nice touch. Would definitely stay here afain.

It would have been nice if the hotel had some float toys or even a pad in the water to swim up to. But this was only minor. Hotel was a very nice experience.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels in Dubrovnik offering perfect views of the famous Old Town medieval walls.Staff is very attentive and always around to help. 2 excellent restaurants with very creative chef. Beautiful spa and very clean rooms.Even when it’s for a short period every stay in Excelsior is memorable experience. Highly recommended.

Small, dark room - way worse than the one in the picture. We couldn’t tell the weather by looking out the window. Unbelievable to be in a room like this for 600EUR/night. Staff did not offer any replacement, only upgrade for another 500EUR/night. Our anniversary trip was great… except for the hotel. Breakfast - no freshly squeezed juice, staff serves drip house coffee as „americano”, waffles and pancakes a’la carte - cold as ice. All of the above despite low season and hotel being half empty.

Wonderful location, a short 10 min walk to Old Town! The main floor with the lounge and restaurants is quite comfortable and beautiful. Service was quick and front desk made an effort (despite some things to note in the room). NaturaBisse amenities worked wonders for skin

Food was poor for a 5 star hotel. Evening meal was OK, average really, not what you would expect in a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was not very good, sent hot water for tea back 3 mornings as it was Luke warm and sent my soft boiled egg back one morning as it wasn't cooked?! Rooms were too hot, air conditioning not on out of season and staff said there were no fans available. Bed was that awful memory foam stuff that you sank into and boiled alive in. Had to sleep with the winows open but big cranes outside for building work next door, so noisy from 6am onwards. Very disappointed.

Great location, not so close to the busiest part of the city, but perfectly walkable to every main attraction. Room with good size for a couple, great view to the ocean, and good amenities. The breakfast was very good, with many options, and the pool area was great I would definitely stay again.

A memorable stay. Would love to come back.

A very lovely hotel. I stayed in Villa Odak with terrace and stunning sea view. The hotel is very close to the old town. The room was super spacious and very clean and classy. Staff were very polite and friendly. Breakfast was amazing. You get to order what you like from a menu plus other food on buffet. On the day of check-out, we had to leave very early. But the breakfast was all ready that early waiting for just the two of us.

One of the best hotel experiences - A must stay in Dubrovnik!

Everything about this hotel is excellent!! Our room was huge and overlooked the old city of Dubrovnik and the beach, making it the perfect view to start and end our day. Since the room was so spacious, we had plenty of room to unpack our bags and sit comfortably. The complimentary breakfast each morning was incredible. Not only was the selection was extensive, but the staff was fantastic. They would take us to our table, bring us our coffee orders, and offered us a selection of made to order breakfast meals - all included in the complimentary breakfast! The views from the breakfast patio were also beautiful and made each breakfast extra enjoyable. The hotel is location a short walk away from the old town entrance - we are both in our early thirties and it took us only 6 minutes to walk from the hotel to the old city gate. The walk is very easy - there is a clear path and you are able to see beautiful views throughout the entire walk. The beach and pool area are also fantastic! The pool area is huge and has several complimentary spa amenities (sauna, roman bath, hot tub) that all can use. If you are interested in being able to swim in Croatia then this hotel is the place for you! The outdoor beach area was some of the best swimming I've experienced in all of Croatia! The water is crystal clear and you are able to jump right into it! The hotel also provides guests with lounge chairs so you can comfortably relax between each swim. The outdoor pool area is also really cool and was a nice place to calmly enjoy the water in between jumps. Finally, the staff at this hotel is phenomenal. They were all very friendly, helped us make reservations at top notch restaurants, and gave us great advice for planning out each day. My husband and I are pretty well traveled and we considered this hotel to be one of the best we've ever stayed at! Definitely a must stay for anyone coming to visit Dubrovnik!!
