Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana - Adults Only - All Inclusive

Great layout, large pools. In this location, the preferred option is definitely worth going for.

The staff was much less attentive and less forthcoming than at another location we once stayed at. Still a high standard of course but it was a noticeable difference. (It included staff frequently on their phones and once even taking selfies during work).

Place is beautiful

We went for vacation not to try to buy a timeshares. Once they finish presentation a cuban guy was not to happy and act kind rude at the end. I know they are not part of the hotel staff but everything besides that 10 of 10.

I'm not sure where to start this review. Secrets Royal was the place we chose to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and it was our first time experiencing an all-inclusive resort. From the moment we arrived, we immediately got that "royal" feeling. Everyone was attentive to our luggage and made sure our needs were taken care of right away. The check-in process was quick and smooth. We really liked our room. For my husband and me, the space was more than enough. The bed was very comfortable, and the room included a mini-fridge stocked with bottled water, local beer, and soft drinks, which was replenished daily. We also want to give a special shout-out to so many wonderful people we met during our stay: Amaurys (Front Desk), Ramoncito and Irene (Breakfast Buffet), Luigi (Mexican Restaurant), Joan (French Restaurant), and Nathaniel and Angel (Pool Bar). Every one of them was incredibly kind, generous with their time, and always happy to help, serve, or simply have a friendly conversation with us. Thank you for showing us just how warm and welcoming the Dominican people can be. We were also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the nightly entertainment. Every performance was absolutely amazing. We did not expect such talented dancers and singers or the incredible energy they brought to every show. Having a different performance each night gave us something to look forward to after dinner and made us want to stay on the property every evening. The restaurants were another highlight of our trip. Every dinner felt like a fine dining experience. We especially loved the French restaurant. The ambiance, the quality of the food, and the beautiful presentation of every dish made each meal memorable. The pool was enormous and always a fun place to relax. People were clearly enjoying themselves, but without the excessive noise that you often find at resort pools. Overall, everyone seemed respectful of each other's space. Spa day was our favorite day!

My biggest disappointment was the beach. I know seaweed is out of control in this area, but I did not expect it to be so bad. We took a couple of excursions out of the hotel: one to Saona Island and one to the Adventure Park. We did cenotes, buggies, and horse riding at the last one. These two seemed to give us the water/beach experience we missed at the hotel.

Staff was always welcoming. Mexican restaurant was best quality/taste meal and vibrant staff.

There was too much hassle on the beach. The quality of the food in most restaurants not true to description, the quality of some guest disrespectful, the entertainment was very poor. Felt a bit trapped in the resort.
