Not worth the money not, even for one night.

Nice building from outside.

I stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately my experience fell far below five-star standards. Cleanliness: The bathroom was particularly disappointing. The shower head was filthy, with dead insects stuck to the walls and visible mold in the grout. Overall, the entire bathroom felt unclean and poorly maintained. Room Condition: The room showed clear signs of age and wear. It did not reflect the luxury you’d expect from a five-star property. Breakfast: The breakfast was among the worst I’ve encountered at any five-star hotel. The food quality was poor, with a very limited selection and items that tasted stale. Presentation and freshness were severely lacking. Service: Service staff seemed untrained and indifferent. Requests took a long time to be fulfilled, and there was no sense of genuine hospitality or attention to detail. Value for Money: Given the substandard cleanliness, outdated rooms, disappointing breakfast, and lackluster service, the price was unjustifiable. This stay was not at all representative of a proper five-star experience. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made.

Golden age seaside glamour and comfort with sweet service

It’s wonderfully glamorous and redolent of a golden age. It is a little faded and outdated in places but dare I say in a good way - everything that really counts is great, space, storage, amenities, comfortable bed and incredibly soft linen and pillows and attentive and kind reception staff.

Minibar is outrageously overpriced and the hotel is not near any convenience stores so it’s a bit mean to charge such high prices for soft drinks - the next night I paid half the price for a coke in a similar quality hotel in the middle of Florence. Also the pool opening at 11am when that’s checkout time makes you wonder what’s the point of having a pool in the first place if you can’t have a dip before breakfast.

Rude, humiliating and absolutely not pet-friendly – avoid at all costs

We travel frequently, but we have never experienced anything as offensive and humiliating as we did at this so-called hotel. We arrived with our elderly, blind dog, who briefly urinated on a side wall near the fence – not near the entrance, not in front of guests, and not in a common area. Out of nowhere, the hotel porter started yelling at us, demanding to know “what that was supposed to mean” and insisting that the dog should have gone to the garden. There were no signs, no instructions, no decency. To make it worse, he refused to help with our luggage, choosing instead to “sanitize” the spot while demanding an apology from us for something entirely accidental. He treated us like criminals – not like paying guests who had just been charged €35 per night for a dog. For that price, we didn’t even get a bowl of water, let alone any hospitality. Clearly, the hotel charges for dogs just to make money, while actually despising their presence. The porter’s behavior was arrogant, condescending, and hostile – and frankly, it felt discriminatory. We were treated with open disdain, and we can’t help but feel that it was because we weren’t locals. He even looked like a caricature of Mussolini – full of rage and entitlement. If we weren’t civil people, we might have responded the same way he did – aggressively and without class. This place is not pet-friendly, not people-friendly, and certainly not worthy of your time or money. We carried our own luggage, swallowed the humiliation, and left with one clear thought: never again.

Beautiful property with fabulous staff

The staff are incredible. The front desk and restaurant staff took great care of us. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms very comfortable. Had a great nights sleep in a very quiet room. The breakfast on the patio with gorgeous views of the sea is a great value. We also enjoyed the rooftop pool. Great location and an easy bus ride to the canals and train station.

The terrace is in renovation so not looking good. The gym is pathetic and I would propose the hotel considers finding a room upstairs for the gym - one with a view. The. Carpets need changing.

Needs a bit of Renovation

The room was hot and stuffy, the central air conditioning isn’t switched on till later in the season. My room was 27C when I checked in. I had a shared balcony, so I couldn’t leave the doors open to air the room. The shower from the room above leaked badly into my bathroom. However the staff were nice. I was kindly ‘upgraded’, to the room that I had booked online 😂. Not a bad hotel, but could do with some renovation.

Fabulous hotel in stunning location!

Lovely, warm and friendly staff, superb location, huge comfortable room and bathroom, stunning view, and terrific breakfast. A kettle and coffee maker in the room completed the comfort! The room was impecably clean, the bed comfortable,, and the water hot. There was parking on the street right at the front. A wonderful stay that will be remembered with great pleasure.

Over priced stay that they don’t care unless your local

Started off with the girl at the desk calling us a cab to go to the city center. The cab driver who spoke good English took us to a remote grocery store and all of the sudden couldn’t speak English. Charged us 34 euro to bring us back. Totally ripped us off. The hotel could care less. On a good note the restaurant was fantastic but they clearly do not like Americans there.

I had a wonderful and restful 4 days at the GH Palazzo.

I love staying at the GH Palazzo. It was quite and restful. The staff is friendly and helpful. I spend most of my days lazing at the pool on the top floor. Although it was full I never felt crowded. I never had any breakfast at the hotel so I cannot comment on the food. I like the fact that the restaurant at the pool functioned separate from the hotel and you settle the bill as you make use of their services. This avoids a surprise bill when you leave.

Hotel is very dirty. A specialy bathroom. It was ugly dirty ! There is almost nothing to do in this hotel. Only small pool at top floor. I was hope to use gym, but it is very difficult becouse aircondition is not working there and there is aprox 30 C. And very wet from Spa next door.

Very enjoyable stay in a clean, comfortable and spacious hotel.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool was lovely - unheated but very refreshing on a hot day. There was an excellent choice for the buffet breakfast. Our room was a good size. Although we had a room overlooking the main road to the front of the hotel we weren't disturbed by traffic noise. The air conditioning was effective.

Restaurant was very expensive but otherwise we liked everything. Just to note that the hotel is some way out of the town centre which was fine for us but might not be for everyone. There are buses running past the hotel though.

The rooftop pool was amazing to relax at. Rooms were so clean, large, and the bed was extremely comfortable. A great place to stay before a flight out of Pisa airport. Highly recommend, would stay again. Breakfast was also amazing.

We had truly unforgettable experience!

Staying in one and only 5-star hotel in Livorno, deciding last-minute, arriving after midnight to the old, but well reconstructed, Palace by the sea, being checked-in by a welcoming FO Night Manager, having upgrade to the one of the most fantastic rooms I’ve seen in my life: with huuuuge balcony, overlooking sea, ships, Terrazza Mascagni, Lighthouse far away… having gorgeous breakfast with a variety of choices for every taste, then having a quick dip in the rooftop pool. Was I dreaming? Seems like that. Definitely the best option in Livorno (also with a gym). Thank You, Grand Hotel Palazzo, for your hospitality and amazing memories!
