Fabulous cottage in a beautiful location

Warm and cosy and extremely well equipped.

Although it didn’t bother me the low ceilings were a bit of a problem for my 6ft + husband and son!!

We had a lovely week's stay at The Old Dame School, the property was extremely homely.

We self catered and ate out at the very nice eateries in the area.

There wasn't anything we didn't like, we had everything we needed.

Stayed at this place twice, first time and last.

Location

Owner new washing machine was faulty, didn’t say anything. Fridge went off on third night, defrosted, we had cheese, milk etc inside. Shower trays filled during shower and “would” have overflowed had showers continued. Quaint only goes so far, this ain’t it.

clean, everything that one needs, remodeling of property very well done, a couple of head knockers going through doors that were unavoidable, but very quaint and roomy.

Very sweet little cottage, nicely and appropriately furnished, within a few steps of the village green. Very comfortable beds, nice shower.

Doorway to bathroom not easy for tall people, but this is the nature of cottages!

Realistically, nothing. The beds were comfy, but I prefer a different mattress. This can't be changed for every guest.

Perfect! Would stay again.

Great location. Lovely little village with plenty of walks and bike rides to do from the front door. Bonus was the tearoom opposite and the village green for the kids to play football. The property was perfect for our stay- clean and comfortable for a family of four.

Lovely quality towels & bedding, Plenty of crockery & washing up liquid toilet rolls etc we’re all provided

Perfect self catering cottage, comfy beds, excellent showers.

Everything was perfect. Very comfortable beds, great showers, very well equipped kitchen. Lovely to have the log burner in the evenings. Couldn't have asked for more. Plenty of great walks close by. Village pub, a couple of minutes walk away, has excellent food.

No negatives for us. We even managed to get two fairly large cars parked right outside the cottage (Feb and not too busy).

Homely cottage in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales

Beautiful location in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales with lovely walks into the national park on the door step.

The beds were uncomfortable and would benefit from new mattresses. The house was clean but presumably with being an old building had a foisty smell.

Lovely cozy escape to the dales

Very cozy and equipped to a high standard. Lovely decor and attention to detail. Loved the log burner at the end of a blustery day on the hills. Thank you for the starter logs and the bottle of fizz. Xx

Dame School Hose Bainbridge

Great spot. Very clean a new comfortable. Modern kitchen and bathrooms. Easy access to walks and towns and places to visit. Opposite was loverly tea room offering breakfast lunch and afternoon teas.

Nothing much to dislike. Quite small and low ceilings and steep stairs, but as expected from an old property. Small area to sit outside was nice.

One of the very best of many places I have stayed in the dales.

Very much enjoyed staying at the Old Dame School. A really good location in the Dales and in the Village. The cottage managed to combine an authentic charm with great comfort and all mod cons. Everything was extremely well equipped and immaculately presented.
