My Westie & I loved our holiday at Penlan, lovely cottage & location.
Loved the Rupert connection & can understand why Alfred Bestall enjoyed his time here. Great location & only a short stroll into the delightful village. Very comfortable & clean. Thanks.
I was apprehensive having read some of the older reviews but the owners have obviously taken note of previous criticisms & the cottage has been sympathetically redecorated without loosing its character.

The bed! The mattress was very soft ,could not have stayed another night,was in pain with my back.a shame as everything else was great 😖

The property was in a lovely location. Very clean and good amenities. No central heating so was a little cold on the first night but once we got used to the heating it kept warm. Property contains lots of different pieces of Rupert the bear artwork and books which was nice. No WiFi but phone signal in the town was perfect so no real need for it. Lovely big garden around property. All in all it is a lovely, homely feeling cottage and allowed dogs. Great instructions about how to find property and get keys. Lack of instructions given about what to do with keys at the end of the stay but that wasn’t a bad thing.
The lack of central heating made it abit cold Also there was no airer to dry out towels. Luckily I didn’t need to wash my clothes but if I did you wouldn’t be able to dry them in the winter months. The outside bin hadn’t been emptied as it should of been on the morning of my arrival and was packed full.
