The best location for multiday Alton Towers

Superb location and clear key instructions. Very clean and tidy. Lots of amenities.

Some of bedframes had issues and the downstairs bathroom door. But overall did not hinder the stay.

Clean basic place. Worn, ok for a stop over. But great location if visiting Alton Towers

Location is amazing to go to Alton Towers. 5 5-minute walk and you're there.

There is no outdoor space (a picnic bench only). The whole place is very worn and needs a lot of TLC. Finally, the host. Started off ok, but when I raised some concerns about what previous reviews had said, she cut off all communication with me all together. Not really a problem, but not a way to run a business either.

Brilliant location lacking in atmosphere.

Alverton was very close to Alton Towers entrance as described. A bit hard to find, but once we arrived the accommodation was as described and comfortable.

Although on the surface everything appeared clean and smelled of bleach. Underlying issues with dust and cobwebs made it obvious that it had only received a minimal clean. It was difficult to find a shop which stocked any items we required.

Location is the only positive

The cottage was filthy. Upon arrival within 5 minute's we contacted the owner Sarah and advised her we would not be staying. False advertising on all platforms as the pictures that advertise this property must have been when the buildings had been renovated. Skye cottages who deal with the rental have no customer service at all. I await an agent contacting me, but I have advised that this matter will not go away. The cottage is in need of refurbishment, deep clean and an overhaul. The scene of the beautiful outside space is actually shared with the other 2 renovations and is not secure. I have sent some of our pictures to the owner and rental company. Sarah the owner has went silent which only shows that she's money driven and not interested in the people who rent the cottage. All our children on this holiday are registered with a disability, the children did not want to sleep in the stained beds or sit on the stained couch. I myself sat on the bench at the breakfast table and my leggings stuck to it! To leave a clean sanitised home and be expected to stay in a filthy cottage was not my idea of a good holiday. We ended up in a Travelodge 20 plus miles away at the back of 11pm this was the onset of meltdowns, stress, anxiety for the children, last minute changes and out of routine. The youngest child begging to go home. Not the best start to any holiday. The holiday was not as promised or to the standards under the consumer rights act 2015. Scathing but fact based and truthful review. I have requested full refund and will not be ignored.

Great location, work to be done.

Contacted the team and they got some items sorted quickly but I didn't think in the first instance the property should have been in better condition

The oven had no glass which was fixed next day, the place was not clean with cobwebs everywhere. The dishwasher didn't work, taps loose in bathrooms. I felt that a lot needed done to the place for them to charge what was charged.

Good location for Alton Towers and nice quiet rural location.

Nice rural location. Good location for Alton Towers, although worth noting that the road going into Alton towers is very busy during opening and closing, making it a bit trickier at peaks times.

8 of us stayed and all having showers within the same time (morning) meant that a couple of us had no warm or hot water, but it wasn’t a major issue and to be expected with the number of guests.

Exactly what we needed for a short stay

It was in an excellent location for us as we where going to Alton towers and it was closer then the car park at Alton towers

A rustic, comfortable house very well situated for Alton Towers.

The proximity to Alton Towers, the log burner and the number of bathrooms!

The sheets were stained (blood and more) on the downstairs bedroom, and when the beds were stripped there were stains on the mattress covers and mattresses. New beds and linen would be nice. More Herve’s or drawers for clothes would be useful in the main bedroom.

Great location nice comfortable stay for the weekend

Close proximity to Alton towers as it was the main reason for this booking plus it was my nephews 2nd birthday while staying here

Lawned area wasn’t cut so the children couldn’t really play on it sofa bed was a little on the uncomfortable side bathrooms were lacking a little tlc maintenance wise also owners need some different takeaway menus as ones at property didn’t really deliver for great service

Location is Fab but the property is awful., untidy

the location was the only plus point, 2 min drive to Alton towers

Beds were collapsed, going down towards the centre. It was very dirty, ji i even took pictures when we got there. The kitchen worktop was sticky. Beds were dirty. No mirrors only 2 mirrors.

beds very uncomfortable. cleanliness wasn’t good for the amount you pay felt dirty. overpriced for stay. one bed was a camp bed so not even a proper bed couldn’t sleep on it as it had massive hole in the middle. damages everywhere. all windows dirty. dirty outside in court yard.

Perfect house for family get together and Alton Tower adventures.

Fab layout, great for families holidaying together. was so much more spacious than the photos looked. So close to Alton Towers main entrance. And we got the monorail to the waterpark (quicker than driving and avoids parking fees)

Well situated,comfortable and well equipped cottage

The location could not have been any better, was quicker to walk to alton towers than to drive literally at gate entrance, cottage was very clean , well equipped with everything we needed , comfortable and homely. The log burner was great for the evenings and the location was quiet and just off main road so no traffic passing at night. Everything was covered from dishwasher, dryer, washer ,cooker, micro, large fridge freezer and plenty of cooking utensils . Beds were comfortable and very clean, extra pillows were available and plenty towels for everyone. Alveton Cottage made our holiday that bit extra

Great stay away to Alton Towers.

We loved how close this property is to Alton towers. You don’t need to drive, just walk, it’s round the corner. The property catered for all our needs. There was a helpful guide as to how everything works and where we can buy wood, locally for the fire. We went as a family of 8 and it was great to have a table that could accommodate us all together.

We don’t have anything negative to say about our stay. It was great.

Location for Alton Towers was fantastic. Friendly welcome. Sarah was so helpful. Lovely place for us to explore while our teenage children went into Alton Towers.
