    I only stayed for one night but absolutely loved this hostel. The layout, vibe, staff, location - it was all great. I felt very welcome. I loved the group dinner and definitely recommend to others. TIP: you need a normal (metal U-lock) for the drawers. The skinny wire travel locks do not work.

    I keep returning to Hostel Casa D’Alagoa. It is in the best location overlooking one of the prettiest squares in Faro old town. The traditional and wonderfully fading grandeur of this beautiful house with its marble staircase, 8foot tall wooden doors and beautiful balconied French windows together with their original wooden shutters keeps me coming back time and again. The location is exceptional with everything you need on your doorstep. The kitchen is well equipped with two large fridges and a freezer for sole use of the guests. There are lots of lovely courtyard and terrace areas to sit in as well as a large sitting room with games and tv and a huge very communal reception area to hangout in. The cleaning staff do an exceptional job at keeping everywhere spotlessly clean…. And the bathrooms look like they have just been cleaned again each time I use them. All the staff at the hostel are just the most charming, interesting and friendly young people you could hope to meet, full of ideas and suggestions combined with enthusiasm.. A special shout out to Leon and Jessica on Reception who are just adorable - my Portuguese family home from home. Looking forward to returning again next month and again in September and October.
