The home is incredibly charming. Takumi and his wife are simply wonderful. Warm, accommodating and so hospitable. Breakfast was amazing every morning and a half hour later, driven to the base of whatever mountain I wanted. Truly felt like we were special the whole time there. Convenient walk to echoland for bars and restaurants. 1000 % would recommend for a unique Japanese mountain experience. We cant rave enough how much we loved our stay.
I didn't like that i had to leave , I could stay forever.

If you like B n B’s and supporting local folks, this is the place for you. Takumi-san and Katsurako-san were so welcoming and accommodating, we felt that we were valued family friends rather than customers. Takumi-san picked us up in the evening when our flight was very delayed on our checkin day. We got breakfasts and a personalized shuttle to our ski destinations. We had everything we needed there, including a ski rental shop from which to rent equipment, and washer and dryer to clean our clothes. The curry and seafood Cup o Noodles were a tasty saving grace when we couldn’t get dinner reservations one night!
Nothing of any note. Just know that this is not a brand new place with the most modern amenities, but you will be well taken care of. This is a couple who care deeply about doing their best to think of making your stay as comfortable as possible.

We loved everything about this gem of a hotel in Hakuba. Takumi and Katsurako were amazing hosts who went out of their way to look after us.
The petit hotel itself is charming and old-worldly, with large rooms, comfortable beds, and private bathrooms. There is even an equipment rental shop downstairs, so you don't have to leave the accommodation to sort your gear out.
A delicious breakfast was served every morning, and there were complimentary beverages and snacks available all day. After a day out in the snow, it was great to warm up in front of the fireplace and enjoy a game of pool. For dinner, we'd head out to the many restaurants and bars of Hokujo St. (Echoland Area), which is a short walk away.
Every morning, Takumi drove us to the slopes, and each afternoon, he picked us up. We so appreciated this stellar service and were sad to say goodbye to Petit Hotel Budoya and its lovely owners. We hope to stay there again.
