Alpine Wind

The onsen was beautiful, the rooms very authentic. The whole hotel was warm and cosy

Alpine wind is south west of the train station and south east of Happo one. Smaller BnB style ski accommodation. The rooms are a little dated and it cant be a bit noisy when other guests come home late as the central staircase is located just outside most of the rooms. But for the price and variety of guests it seemed to match. The breakfast was in keeping with Japanese size meals, enough protein to get out skiing without over eating like some of the other resorts. A few other guests said they also liked this and were returning customers from the previous season. Staff were friendly helpful, rooms were clean. Private Onsen out the back was a bonus I didn't know about on booking. Easy walk to mountain shuttles so you can pick and choose which mountain each day.

Not noise insulated but was well managed by staff.

Great location, close to shuttle bus to ski resorts. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had the family room which was great with your own bathroom. And the private bookable onsen was a wonderful experience after a long day on the slopes.

Friendly and helpful staff. Were were able to purchase ski passes at a discounted rate on site. Close to ski bus stop and a short walk to Echoland for restaurants and cafes. Drying room for ski equipment.

Old and rather dusty fittings and furniture - I don't think anything has been upgraded for the last 30 years. Family bedroom consisted of four mattresses with old duverts/blankets etc on the floor and a tiny bathroom. Small fridge was not clean inside and my daughter nearly choked on the dust from opening the drawer to get the hairdryer out.
