⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a wonderful stay at Chez Marie in Dunkirk! Mateo and his mom were incredibly kind and welcoming, always making sure I felt at home. The house is just one minute from the beach, and parking was super easy. I also appreciated being able to use the kitchen — it made the stay even more comfortable. Highly recommend this lovely place and their great hospitality!

A truly delightful stay. Chez Marie is to be recommended.

Firstly our hosts who are very sweet. Monsieur Chez Marie waited up for us as we were much later than expected and was vey accommodating where our bicycles were concerned. The property on the whole is very comfortable, good bed, lovely bathroom and the petit-déjeuner just perfect taken in kitchen area overlooking the pretty courtyard garden.

Personally we found the pillows a little too big and hard. Happily as we cycle and at times camp, we had our own inflatable pillows.

Very small room, old fashioned and gloomy. Not the room shown in the picture on the website! Lots of stairs up to the room with an uncomfortable bed and pillows. Very difficult to find parking on the street.

A comfortable stay in a good location

The house is a beautiful, traditional property with modern facilities. The room was light and bright with a good bathroom and the host was very welcoming. The property is very close to the beach, bars and restaurants.

As it is a traditional property the stairs are steep which made accessing the second floor room a bit of a challenge. Parking is free on the local streets but it can be difficult to find a vacant spot.

Wonderful place to stay with only slight issues

Perfect location, lovely room in a home -- not exactly a hotel of the sort I expected, but quite nice, and the owners were gracious and extremely congenial. Nice bath (separate but private), and beautiful decor. Very pleasant.

I could not figure how to turn on the heat in my room, but didn't discover that fact until everyone in the building had gone to bed for the night. Also, the free parking is street parking, and if I had not lucked into a parking space, I might have had to carry my luggage several blocks, as parking spaces were quite limited. The rooms were up steep stairs, which was to be expected in such a home, but at my age (74) rather a struggle to get luggage up there.

Very clean, comfy beds and quiet location, but close to beach. Owner was lovely to chat to and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with croissants, homemade jam, fresh baguette etc. Would definitely stay again!

The staff were so lovely and explained everything. Facilities were great, nice bathroom and very big rooms. Breakfast was included and it was so amazing!

If you’re taking heavy bags just know there’s no elevator, so you’ll be lugging it up the stairs like us! But that’s our fault for taking such heavy bags!

Beautiful property with large rooms in a perfect spot near the beach. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious!

We didn’t think the beds were particularly comfortable, especially the pillows which were very hard. Otherwise, we had a great stay!

The most wonderful place to stay I’ve ever have. Everything VERY nice organized and the owner together with administrator were taking care about us as like about their own guests and not like in hotel. That’s amazing!

Very clean & comfortable, shared bathroom, adjoining doors means sound isn't reduced much.

The host is a very friendly and helpful man that speaks very little to no English. The house is very well presented and equipped, breakfast was great and quite a few business cards for restaurants along the beachfront were provided making finding an evening meal much easier.

Not entirely as advertised, there appeared to be very little sound reduction occurring, the adjoining room could be heard clearly through the door that separated the rooms. The bathroom was across the hall and shared with the other room on the floor, not a major problem - but the room booked was meant to be en-suite, so we expected our own bathroom.

Excellent location, nicely appointed rooms with very good facilities. Our hosts were really nice people and very helpful. Breakfast was also very good.

The manual operated shutter blind in our room didnt work, or if it did we couldnt work it out. This meant the room was very light very early in the morning. Road parking only which is very hit and miss, but we knew this when booked, we were fortunate and managed to get right outside as someone was leaving when we arrived....very lucky.

Highly recommended!

The host is very helpful and knowledgeable. He prepares an amazing breakfast with homemade jams and orange juice, and an amazing selection of cheeses and breads from the local market. It's also very close to the beach.

We need to really look for little things to nitpick about here. There was little to nothing to complain about. It's a personal issue, but the pillows were a bit square. Rectangular would have been prepared.
