Nice place, costly cleaning and difficult entry procedures

$40 cleaning fee was half of the rent of approximately $80. 2 coffee pods and no soap in the bathroom. The check in was difficult. For some reason you have to sign into another site and then wait for the code. Manager said 15 minutes but it was closer to 1 hour.

Don’t be taken in from the description of this place.

Don’t be taken in by the false information, images and promises. We booked two of the three apartments for two nights. Included in the booking was a cleaning fee and upon leaving the property owner sent a list of instructions to strip beds. Remove rubbish etc. not what you want from a break. Beds were not comfortable, pillows had no structure to them. Bathroom on top floor needs a really good scrubbing on all tiles and id recommend getting an expert to seal the bath as it looks like a 2 year old has done the work. Promises of seafront apartments. Available parking and deluxe apartments is all incorrect information as well as sound proofed. Everything in description is a fabrication of the reality. Images are very dated vs reality including different furniture and decor. Top floor apartment is very steep to get to. Ground floor offers private courtyard which in reality is a concrete square with no seating. I’d recommend to look elsewhere if you are considering to book. To the owner I’d recommend investing in a refurb and clean as well as offering a holiday experience of not having to do the cleaning at the end of a stay especially when charging for the privilege.

Our fault for not researching fully. Needed a hotel for a short stop - this was Air B&B type accommodation where it was necessary to mop and hoover before departure. This isn’t an apart-hotel in that sense.

A wonderful host, quite a pleasant stay

The host was extremely patient, good contact despite the language barrier.

The booklet information was different than the information in the messages, for example the demands associated with cleaning after stay did not match. The vacuum was damaged and I was scared to clean not to scratch the floor. There was no clear explanation on how to find the trashbin, even though it was possible to give the exact address/directions to the place where the trashes can be disposed.

Nice apartment

The location is great, since the beach is just around the corner. It is a nice large apartment, perfect for a family.

I found the instructions a bit too strict (like cleaning after ourselves and taking out the sheets even if a cleaning fee is applied), and I missed some basic cookware, but overall was good.

Perfect location, great affordable appartment, and excellent staff who really show they care.

To gain access you are given access to an electronic key on arrival, an App on your smart phone. This makes the usually hassle of renting apartments much easier - I have experienced many issues with this. We had a small mix up in the rooms, and the service lady came to assist. She couldn't have been nicer. There are 3 apartments, the 2nd floor one being the nicest, and the top floor being the smallest. We had the ground floor. The appt is very comfortable for a couple with a small child (single bed room with a large double bed and a single bed. It also has a comfy sofa bed and a pull out bed from a cupboard. The kitchen was good: fridge, great oven, coffee machine, microwave, utensils and dish washer. The location was perfect, about 2 minute walk from the best part of the promenade, and a 10 minute walk from the Carrefour supermarket. Street parking was free, in any marked bay - although you will probably not be able to park directly outside except for unloading (there is a stretch of garages that you could temporary block to unload). When staying in Dunkerque for more than 5 days I would stay here again. I would choose the 2nd floor if available, as this had a double bed and a double bunkbeds for the 2 children.

Struggling to think of anything. The only thing would be parking, and any apartment in this great location would have the same issue. Luckily once you find a parking spot, you don't really need a car. There is a free bus, and we walked most places. Even when I did take the car out, I found a space within 100m within a few minutes. As a note, if you are travelling from England - unless there is a give way sign, the right has priority even at what appears to be a T junction. I like in Norway which has the same rules, and friends from the UK find it bizarre that cars will just drive out of junctions.

Good

The host is a real Gentlemen, he was kindly explain us about Dunkirk and he was flexibel. Top location! The beach is only 2 Minutes walking from the apartment. Fabulous restaurants and bars just around the corner. Parking lot is about 300 m away from the apt. I never used it. I had luck, that I could park my car within 100 m from the apt.

The apt is definitely not the new one and not sound proof. Actually a full renovation would be great. The parquet floor should be renewed with sound-adsorbing material. The toilet and bathroom could be updated. Unfortunately we had a neighbor below us who hasn't much tolerance for children (1, 3, 6 y.o). The carpet was unfortunately not really clean and the bunk bed wasn't clean either. I suggest to change the mattresses. Different from the description in Booking.com we didn't have dish washer or washing maschine.

Not bad, I think for 2-3 nights for 5 it could be ok, but a bit small for longer for that party size

Location and interior design.

Toilet and bathroom separated also we were very surprised that linen is not included in payment so we were asked to pay 50 euros for us 5 for a overnight stay. Which was not stated in booking property description certainly. Taking into account that we had to pay 20 euro for late arrival it would increase our night stay price almost to 200%. However we negotiate refusing all additional charges with the host. Also a man who meet us was barely speaking English, which make communication a bit difficult, which is important when you are in a hurry or have to negotiate

Goede locatie, vlakbij het strand. Erg rustige straat. Het appartement was erg netjes ingericht. (M.u.v. 1 stoffen zetel aan het raam. Deze had vuile vlekken) Er was alles wat je nodig had, maar beperkt.

Wij verbleven met gezin van 5 personen. Hier was het appartement niet echt voor ingericht. We pasten net schouder tegen schouder met 5 in de zetel, maar 5 stoelen op het appartement. Ook het huisraad was erg pover: enkel 5 glazen, 5 vorken, 5 messen, ...

Reinigungsgeführ hätte man für die Reinigung 30€ zahlen sollen oder man macht es selber, Downloading von irgendeiner App um den Code für Schlüssel zu bekommen (geht wohl auch ohne), sehr enge Toilette, zu steile Treppen für ältere Menschen, keine Seife, man bekommt einen Link für eine Website mit Listen voller Regeln (Mülltrennung, Bettwäsche abziehen, Putzen etc.) komischer Geruch vom alten Geschirr

Die Unterkunft ist sehr gut gelegen. Der Strand ist in 2 Minuten zu erreichen. Die Aufteilung der Räume ist sehr gut. Es gibt ein Hochbett und ein Doppelbett in einem Zimmer. Es gibt einen Wohnbereich und einen Küchenbereich.

Le petit appartement était quelque peu poussiéreux, et certaines infrastructures ont eu besoin d’un grand coup de nettoyage comme le canapé avec des traces dessus. Une petite bouteille d’eau aurait pu être bien accueilli également pour la réception des hôtes … pour ce qui est des infrastructures de la douche, on est en totale opposition par rapport au reste de l’appartement . Petite cabine exiguë totalement en plastique. On se serait cru au camping.

Nachdem man viele und sehr enge Treppen hoch musste kam man in die Jahre gekommene oberste Wohnung deren Toilette extrem klein und eng war und die Betten waren laut und unbequem.Alles in allem benötigt die Wohnung eine Renovierung und neue Möbel.

Versprochene Fahrradabstellplatz fehlte, keine hat sich darum gekümmert, Fahradboxen auf der Straße sind für die einheimischer reserviert. Sie sagten, draußen wird es gestohlen... Wir rufen immer vorher an, ob sie Abstellplatz für die Fahrräder haben, wenn ja dann buchen wir, wenn die Leute lügen, dann haben wir größte Problem in einem fremden Stadt...
