I arrived around 1am and was assigned to a room with only men. I was thinking they will put me in a room with some women at least. I only have to stay there for a 4 hour sleep and I left immediately in the morning. Staff were hospitable, the amenities were good for the price. Overall was an okay stay. Good location too.

Location - check Helpful and friendly Staff - check Cleanliness - check Downside - Street noise at night due to location and other people in the room snoring while sleeping. I dont usually stay in hostels because of lack of privacy but because Edinburgh's steep hotel room prices, I decided to give CODE a try. I dont really have any complains other than what I mentioned about.

Staff are awesome, positive and seem happy to be there. You're never left guessing what to do next. This goes for customer facing as well as maintence staff. Location is ridiculous. It's like you wake up, go outside and it's a different century. Very, very busy area. Most things people wanna really see in Edinburgh are within a few minutes walk. Capsules aren't like the high tech ones you see in Japan with actual doors, fans and little TVs etc, but they have some USB plugs (albeit a bit slow charging), and two different lights, so they're fine for the price. Place is extremely secure as well, which can be a little tricky cuz you have to put your code in twice to get to your room and it locks behind you. They change the password to the luggage room everyday which is also a great piece of mind policy.

Location is amazing! And very expensive for a dorm room! But the chill out areas are awesome!! No cooking.. only microwaves and kettles/fridges
