Lovely caravan, bad sewer smell affecting Poppy location.

The location and facilities of the caravan were perfect for our needs. It was clean and had useful accessories and the basics for washing up.

The sewer smell that unfortunately affects the area of Poppy. It lasted most of the day during our stay last weekend in hot weather. The site management are apparently aware of it but it means you can't enjoy the outside veranda until later in the evening. Hopefully they can sort it out for next summer.

I booked a 3 bedroom caravan I received a message that I would receive a 2 bedroom one, the caravan smelled very bad it had no curtains on the windows everyone could see you from outside, it only had thick curtains on some of the windows. I had a conversation with the people in charge at the reception if the caravan could be changed because it smells very bad and I was told to get my money back and leave if I didn't like it. Where can I leave with the children at 6 am and find other accommodation like that it's crazy of them they knew we had no choice but to stay, and the people at the reception made a reference that they only have good caravans for their customers not for those who rent from booking I felt very bad cheat this was like a rasism well what's the point if I'm not a regular customer my money that I paid for the caravan, it's the worst experience and we will never go there again 👎

Nothing it’s was worse caravan I’ve ever slept in no dogs seem like dog owned it mold smelt bad .. no heating no tv very outdated £400 for two nights worth around £60 in my eyes owner made me 9 year old son cry due to not able to go swimming and was asked 30 questions before give the code to caravan!! Pls avoid for disappointment!! Seriously I tried to cancel but was few £288 if I did 60% of the asking price … very rude customer service.. no towels no nothing just sofa and bad smell !! I’ve never been this shocked all Family was upset and wrecked our bank holiday if I’d not drove for 3 hours I’d turned around !! Owner couldn’t made it any harder for us and the stay was abysmal pls stay away

Beautiful property. I had never stayed in one before so this was new to me. Everything simple to use. I was doing some research and study and found this great. The good in the onside cage was much better than expected; beer however was expensive.

The property is in a great location. Oakdene is close to the areas we love to visit and the caravan is situated in a quiet area of the park.

I have booked this property many times in the past, unfortunately this time it seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. there was a false nail on the bedside table along with coffee cup stains, long black hairs on the pillow and the dining table. crisps on the bedroom carpet too. there were only 2 bowls which made it difficult for a family of 4 come breakfast time. I went to use the washing machine, it would not work and there were clothes already in there from the previous visitor. there was also a blood stain on the bedsheet of one of the single beds. The bin handle was dirty also.

Dissapointing accommodation

Unfortunately the property was not as described. The photographs on booking.com were clearly taken a long time ago. We were dissapointed when we stepped onto the balcony decking which was unstable and filthy. We had been looking forward to using the decking but it was not useable. The outside sofa and glass coffee table had been dumped round the back of the accommodation which left only four cushioned chairs. The fold away chairs were covered in green mold so were unusable. There was a broken outside light on the chair and the catch on the gate was hanging off and the decking was filthy. We were asked to remove our shoes before entering the property in the instructions from the owner to find poorly fitted doorbars with sharp edges which we placed a towel over to protect our feet.. The freezer door as you entered looked like it had been sliced all over. There was an awful smell in the accomodtion which would not go. The edging on the TV cabinet was peeling away leaving sharp edges. The back of the TV remote was missing. The sofas were heavily stained, torn and the springs were poking you when seated. The vinyl floor covering was split and the shower was too hot to use and we could not adjust it. Basically the accommodation had been neglected inside and out and was in a state of disrepair. The gas safety certificate in the boiler cupboard was over two years old which was concerning. On arrival we checked to see if there was alternative accommodation onsite but as its peak season we found oakdene and the surrounding area full so had to make the best of it. The owner came round the following morning to introduce himself at which point I questioned if it was the same accommodation as advertised. He said it was the only three bed he had onsite, I said it was an old photo then. Very dissapointed, I was only able to put four photos on,I hope the owner will fix it up for future guests, but we won't be returning.

Hygiene of utensils was not good. Both showers you can not regulate the hot water as tap broken. The main bed had springs broken and protruding the matrus .

Lovely site to stay on

The property is based on a great site with good facilities. Bed linen was nice and fresh,& a nice little touch was a bottle of Prosecco on arrival

There was an unpleasant smell that just didn’t go even with the windows open. Couple of jumpy bugs in the bedrooms & even after owners had come to adjust heat of shower it was still too hot to shower in properly.
