About this cabin rental

Sunset View, our genuine log cabin, is nestled in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, just off the 441 spur. The semi-secluded cabin sits almost at the top of a mountain, giving a sensational view and a simply heavenly feel. Yet within 10-15 minutes, you can be at any of the major attractions of the Smokies.

The log cabin was built by the renown photographer of the Smoky Mountains, James Thurston. Its suite-like floor plan with large rooms containing open beamed cathedral ceilings, along with a warm, cozy décor make it the perfect cabin for a family or two couples. Each bedroom has its own attached bath.
You don't have to leave behind your four legged family members either. Sunset View is Pet Friendly! (Sorry, dogs only.) A large Pet Porter is stored in the lower level closet to be used when the family wants to go out for the evening, yet be sure 4-legged family members will be safe, as well as the cabin. $75 pet fee is based on a maximum of 2 dogs. Contact owner for consideration of 3 dogs.

Sunset View is a cabin you'll want to return to again and again for a special relaxation and peacefulness that you can only experience from a porch swing, while watching the sun melt over the mountaintops.

** Major Holiday stays require a minimum of 4 nights, some only 3 nights (Memorial Day, President's Day, Labor Day, etc.) ** Wednesday before Thanksgiving must be booked with Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve must be booked with Christmas Day.
** Extra Adult Fee - There is a $20 (per person, per night) fee for each adult over the number 6. **

Cute 2-bedroom cabin, beautifully decorated. The view was just what we wanted - just beautiful. Enjoyed the swing on the deck. Hot tub fits 4 but probably better for just 2.

The view was amazing! The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed. We loved the hot tub and the card table downstairs. Had to give 3 stars for cleanliness beacuse the shower liner upstairs smelled so strong of urine and the sheets had a bad(dirty) smell.

Really enjoyed our stay at Sunset View. This cabin had everything we needed for ourselves and our fur baby to be comfortable. The beds were very cozy too! I got some ofmy best sleep in many months during my stay. The location of the cabin can’t be beat either. It is off the main drag, but far enough to feel like you are getting away from everything. They have an extensive collection of VHS and DVD’s. This was fun for myself and my now adult son as he grew up before streaming service was a thing. We were able to watch a couple of our favorite movies on VHS just like we did when he was little! Brought back some nice memories. Also worth mentioning was the Sunset view. The cabin is very appropriately named. It was nothing short of remarkable!

We had a wonderful time, enjoyed the mountains and got to see a bit of nature’s bears. Could have had a bit more yard from the back door and hot tub. A little too close for bears walking up on you. Other than that we had a really nice time.

The cabin was awesome my wife myself and my son really enjoyed it especially the hot tub the big porch with a beautiful view and the cabin was so comfy I would definitely recommend staying here if you want a nice relaxing place to stay on your getaway! The one complaint I have, is that the property could use some 'updates'. That being said, for the price you pay, you can't ask for a better spot. Very dog friendly, and plenty of space to walk them. My Shepherd spent a bunch of time on the back deck looking at wildlife. It's also a decently quiet road, without a lot of traffic.

Definitely a little piece of heaven right in between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. So nice to have a little relaxation and peace amongst the busier city areas. Gorgeous view! Made breakfast every morning and ate it out on the porch. Very spacious and ckean. We absolutely loved it!

This cabin was absolutely perfect for my little family. Everything we thought to bring was pretty much here already. And it has the best view off the back deck, my kids (3 and 4) loved to sit on the swing. Would recommend to anyone. Plenty of room and laid back stay.

I cannot say enough great things about our trip here this summer. The space was amazing for 2 adults, a 4 year old and a dog. We spent so much time on the balcony just seeing what all the different weather and lighting did to the amazing views. This was a beautiful location outside of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg but close enough to spend time in both daily if desired. We had the most magical trip and this cabin was the icing on top. I would 100% go back.

House was perfect for our family getaway. However this is a pet friendly house and i dont know if the prev guest had a dirty dog but the dog smell was really strong. We just had some spray and candles and were ok. The bedding and sofa cushions DID NOT SMELL. The road up is almost one lane in 1 spot so just be careful. U will have a great time we would totally book again

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. It truly was the best rest ever. The area was remote, yet close to everything we needed. We had privacy even with other cabins around. We usually stay in the middle of the action, but the cabin allowed us to truly rest and still get involved in that action within a matter of minutes. Great place to lounge and read on the back porch. Highly recommend. The cabin was well kept and comfortable. We would do this again.

Cabin was really great. Online photos are outdated and don't show off how nice it is. We had 6 people but you easily could have slept 8. Porches and view great. Location between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge was great. The only drawback but the owner's seem to have a dog and did not clean up enough after the dog. It wasnt a big issue, but there was dog hair in places.

We loved the location of the cabin and the fact that it was fully furnished with everything we needed down to a colander to drain our food. Need to cut the trees and bushes away from home and walk way. Banister is needed for both sides of walkway, more solar lights everywhere!! Inside the house needs updating, TV’s, appliances, at least one movie channel (DVD and VHS not needed).Update the photos inside and outside the house, the pictures on line are not accurate. When you take a shower upstairs, the tub and sink back up in the downstairs bathroom and smells. Downstairs is always ice cold even when the air conditioner was turned up. It was very uncomfortable. The cabin is beautiful and with the upgrades it be perfect!

Location was perfect for us. Just a little south of Pigeon Forge, it was convenient for everything we did. Amenities were just right for our purposes. Was happy to find something dog friendly. Communication was excellent with owner. Relaxing in the hot tub looking out over the mountain was unmatched after hours out and about exploring .
