A Brilliant short break.

Our holiday needs could be discussed as presented. Local recommendations for attractions, restaurants and other places of interest advice was excellent. All in all an enjoyable stay signposted by an excellent host.

It was good for what we needed as we were just there for the nights.

Box of Fruit and Fibre cereal, Orange juice and milk left for us, plus tea & coffee. Nothing else offered, but this is what we normally eat so OK.

Description of accommodation was accurate, room and toilet/shower a little tight to get around, but had everything promised.

Lovely little place tucked in West Bay only 2 mins from the beach.

It needed an oven and somewhere outside to hang wet towels/swimsuits.

I enjoyed my time there

It was very welcoming and clean. The shower was lovely and the bed was comfortable. I really appreciated having crockery and cutlery as well.

The only thing would be that there was no floor space to open my case, and the bed frame has pointy metal corners which I banged into a lot in the small space. Maybe a smaller bed and frame would be better in such a small room.

Pleasant, convenient accommodation in West Bay

Great location in West Bay. Easy walking distance to restaurants, takeaway, pubs and harbour. Parking. Carol was welcoming and kindly supplied milk, orange juice, biscuits, cereal and water.

Poor sound insulation between rooms, so could clearly hear the people in next room.

A pleasant nights stay. Great location and friendly staff. Nice touch of drinks on arrival and supplies in the room such as biscuits and milk, OJ etc for breakfast.

Close to beach very nice surroundings comfy and cosy atmosphere

There was some lovely touches plates and cutlery in room that will be cleaned when finished with just a little thing I would of liked is a toaster in the room although I am sure it could of been an option to go in to kitchen not some thing I personally like to do

Superb

Carol was a lovely host and made sure we felt welcome.We stayed two nights and had everything we needed for a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The terrace overlooking the bay was an added bonus. I'd highly recommend this B&B, just a short walk to the beach and harbour. We would definitely stay again. Check out was stated at 10am but Carol told us that morning that there was no rush and we eventually left the room at around 10:30, we were even allowed to leave our car in the car park space while we went for a morning stroll before leaving. This is how laid back everything was.

no WiFi, upon arrival I was asked if I was another guest and upon saying no I was then called “the other one” despite speaking to the host that same day on the phone, was a very poor first impression, seemed like the host was waiting for this other more important guest (despite them staying less time), very thin walls we could hear full conversations in the rooms both sides of us which was uncomfortable.

Very clean accommodation, friendly host, convenient for the town. The hot drink on arrival and breakfast supplies were much appreciated. Free parking on site. Useful to have a fridge in the room.

Welcoming, charming, clean

The location was perfect and the room nice and quiet which is what I wanted as I'm a light sleeper. I would describe the room as comfortable rather than luxurious which is what I hoped for. There was a TV and ensuite loo and shower. Because of Covid 19 constraints, breakfast was cereal and the small fridge equipped with milk and orange juice. I would have quite liked a couple of rolls, some butter and cheese as well and I'm sure that had I asked Carol would have obliged. The interesting thing about Heatherbell cottage is that the rooms are on a single level but for somebody with a disability there are two fearsome steps down to the front door with no handrail and this is the one change that I would like to see to help those of us less steady on their feet. My room and I believe the other rooms opened out onto a private veranda. I have no reservations about recommending Heatherbell Cottage and hope to visit again before too long

Very enjoyable 4 night stay in West Bay

French window to private boarded terrace that was a wonderful sun trap! Quirky features in entrance hall incuding ex ship's engineroom telegraph used as doobell! Hamper used to provide breakfast things including plates, bowls, cutlery, etc.; left outside in morning and replenished by evening. We hope to stay here again in 2022.

Washbasin in separate space from loo and shower-room. This is being a bit picky as the washbasin was very close to shower-room door and there were obvious limitations to conversion of room.

Perfect stay!

Great location, perfect host, and the best nights sleep I’ve ever had. The bed/pillows was very comfy, breakfast hamper was a lovely touch, and the room provided everything we would need. Only a short walk to the beach/pier which was perfect. Our host was lovely and welcoming, she made sure we had everything we needed!

Lovely room but issues with the shower

The location is perfect, easy walking distance to the town .

The shower never worked properly, they said it was low pressure but unfortunately it had no pressure for the entire stay . Washed using the hand sink .
