Great for a large family trip. Able to cook. Beautiful views.
An older house with dated furnishings, but value for money

Great views and great location due to the proximity to town

Nice size of property for our group. Great view. We could take the dog.
Myself and my partner got stuck in our room. Door jammed and could not be opened from the inside. Had to phone someone to get out.

Great location and a lot of space views were amazing ..had everything we needed
Could do with a bit of updating but everything was functional and clean , no plug point near a mirror but found an extension cable and managed

The keys were in a key safe and we were sent the code before our arrival with clear guidance on access.
There was plenty of dishes, cups, glasses and pots for cooking. There was plenty of places to sit and we all sat at the big table for food. The views are phenomenal. The sofa’s are quirky, but really comfy. The place is a quirky mix of old and new and it’s really homely.
The only small challenge was that the numbers on the cooker nobs are faded, or not there which made it a wee bit difficult with the oven and hob initially.

The view of the Loch from the top floor and balcony was very relaxing. There was plenty of space to relax.
We drove past the house on the first pass and should have entered "Old Harbour Master's apartment" into Google Maps rather than the address provided by Booking.com

They were located in the lock box
The view was amazing, but the common area was quite dated and seemed to have a lot of the host’s personal items there. Not really set up as VRBO. It was advertised as a two bathroom, but the bathroom upstairs was a tub with no handheld shower. I would recommend having the two single beds replaced with a queen. The bedroom upstairswould not be appropriate for adults because that is where the common area is. It was nice enough, just very dated.

Very central for Fort William and getting into the hills. Lovely views across the loch from the balcony
There was nothing to dislike

The property is fantastic, boasting a breathtaking view of the Loch. The entire house exudes a charmingly rustic, old-school village vibe, precisely what we sought instead of a modern apartment. It's an ideal spot for a family trip, equipped with all the amenities imaginable. There is convenient parking available on-site. The property is impeccably maintained and clean, serving its purpose admirably. I especially appreciated the considerate touch of the host, who thoughtfully provided travel guides, board games, and other extras in addition to the standard amenities.
Another thing it was near to most touristy spots like Glencoe, and Ben Nevis and was also close to market and grocery stores.
Overall, a great option!
One issue that detracted from our experience was the absence of hot water in one of the bathrooms. Initially, there was no hot water, and I notified the host. He promptly replied that someone would look into the issue. Unfortunately, the situation escalated as there was a complete lack of water in that particular bathroom later on. This proved to be highly inconvenient, especially as the water ceased during my shower. Subsequently, all seven of us had to adjust and share a single bathroom, which became a significant challenge during our stay. Despite informing the host about the issue, no resolution or fix was provided.

Amazing view over the loch. Kitchen well equipped. Comfortable rooms. Host is a fantastic communicator.
The shower was on eco mode and very little water came out but it was OK. The house was freezing when we arrived. The cooker is very old and slow. Pillows very hard. Have to take glass recycling home.

Outstanding!! My daughter and grand kids first trip to Scotland. The view from the balcony was amazing. The choice of bedrooms was perfect. This place had everything. Felt very homey. Lots of restaurants nearby, you don't need a car. We ate at Wetherspoons ..what a deal for families. We moved a portable light from the bunk bed to have more light for cooking. Going to the Steam Train? Just minutes away as well as a grocery store with great variety. What a great start for our trip and an amazing host.
Just need more light over the cooker, but we used a portable clip on from the kitchen. Apart from that 10+ out of 10

Great location. Easy 2 minute walk to Main Street shops and cafes
Uncomfortable beds and lounge chairs. Dodgy balcony. Bad layout of main bathroom.

The view from the living room is beautiful (as well as the views from the kitchen and one bedroom). And it had plenty of space for my adult family of 5. Overall, a wonderful place near the center of Fort William!
It was a bit hard for us to locate with the address given, but this was likely a problem with our navigation apps.

Lovely view of the harbor in Fort William - great balcony for morning coffee or evening cocktails. The apartment had all the amenities needed for a large family group - loads of sleeping space, towels and a large pleasant kitchen fully equipped. We used this apartment as a central hub for outings to Ben Nevis, the Jacobite train and golfing at Glencoe. Easy walk to downtown which was full of great shops and plenty of bars and restaurants.
I really can find no fault.

Location was further from the centre of town than expected with an uphill gradient on return.
Wifi was great
Instructions and access were adequate via email
The view fro attic level was wonderful but a steep set of internal stairs made using this facility difficult.
The kitchen was well equiped and included washing machine:)
The unit could do with a Reno of main bathroom facilities - including a thorough cleansing of grout and removal of rust .
The unit also had a very musty odour.
Also we were advised by owner all beds were new and comfy - which was definitely not the case .

The location in Fort William is excellent, very central, and has no issue with parking! From here, one can explore the wider area with ease, and Fort William offers some good dining and other services. We loved the attic balcony and views over the adjacent Loch, you cannot beat that! There was plenty of space in this generous house, though you only have the first floor and attic space, which are ample. The property could take up to 8 people, two double rooms, two single beds, and two more single beds as a bunk bed. There are also two bathrooms, one just with a shower, the other having a bathtub. The host was helpful and responsive, and instructions for accessing the property were timely and clear.
We did encounter a couple of issues with the washing machine and a drawer, but the host was helpful and responsive, but neither could be resolved during our stay. My only suggestion is the kitchen more so could benefit from some modernisation, but everything worked (washing machine excluded) and there's lots of equipment and utensils to have a very comfortable stay. I would still recommend.

Old Harbour Master's self-catering accommodation is one street above the high street of Fort William so close to the shops and pubs/restaurants and 10 to 15 minutes walk from the train and bus stations. The kitchen had everything we needed including a small dishwasher. The bedrooms are quite roomy but the room with the bunk bed is better suited to children. Good, hot shower. The view from the lounge on the top floor is beautiful. There are many books, games and DVDs available for rainy days or evenings. It was a good base for 5 of the Polytechnic Rambling Club members who stayed there while on a walking weekend in Fort William.
The seal to the fridge door needs replacing. I forgot to mention it to the owner.

Plenty of space for a family.
dvds, books and games were a huge hit with kids and adults.
kitchen fully equipped
views over the loch were fantastic
location excellent
Communication with the host was great.
The property could do with a little TLC, some features were abit outdated but didn’t effect the stay at all.
the property was abit dusty. The attic room wall even though lovely to look at (bare brick) attention to the cleaning here could be better, cobwebs were found all over the brick work that joins the facings of the walls, which housed lots of spiders, I had to clean this and behind the bed where more cobwebs were found (given that I have a huge fear of spiders it was the only way I could sleep).

Fabulous location and amazing views over Fort William. Very spacious rooms (large bedrooms, kitchen and living quarters). Having 2 bathrooms great. Lots of facilities (books, games etc). Balcony was great. Lots of parking and very convenient for surrounding area and a 5 minute walk into Fort William centre. Would recommend.
One of the bedrooms a little cold but plenty of blankets available

Our host was kindly flexible and we were able to do an early bag drop - thanks.
View from top balcony was sublime!
Nice welcoming kitchen space.
Location was great for access to the high street with a few good pubs and souvenir shops, with easy access to fun day trips.
It is fully carpeted and perhaps a little dusty as a result.
