Apartment Frankie's Place

The apartment was very close to the beach and had a beautiful view. Everything was clean, comfortable and modern, with a very nice place to sit outside right next to the sea. It was only 10 minutes away from Dubrovnik, and our car was parked just outside the apartment. The owner was very kind and always available; when we had an emergency, she helped us within 5 minutes.

The only take cash payment when you arrive, which we didn't expect. Very expensive. I'd say the price is 50% too high compared with other accommodations we booked in Croatia. The kitchen was not particularly well equipped: but owner was very obliging and supplied things that we requested. No washing machine, so we had to hand wash. The shower flooded the bathroom 3 times during our stay The terrace and the three sun loungers were also being used by other residents (permanent residents seem to live in the 2 floors above). Most days the terrace was occupied and we couldn't use it until late afternoon. One night the other residents stayed on the terrace all night talking and playing music which kept the occupants of the front bedroom awake for much of the night. No formal check-in / check-out system.

* Beautiful and comfortable location. * A/C and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking. * Private terrace and a private swimming area. * Very comfortable and spacious master bedroom.

* No private parking. The host did not clearly explain where we were supposed to park, which caused a lot of confusion. Some public parking spots are also regularly occupied by an elderly woman who puts chairs there to reserve them for herself, which is obviously not legal. Many people simply move her chairs. Overall, the owners of the surrounding properties did not seem very friendly. * Fungus/mold in the bathroom. * There was quite a lot of dust throughout the property, especially underneath the beds when we moved them together. * The window in the small bedroom seems to be broken, and we were afraid to open it. The beds in the small bedroom are also separate. * Only two sun loungers are provided, and the larger one is not very comfortable. * Only the outdoor shower assigned to our property wasn’t workin * There is only one umbrella, which is not enough, and it is also broken. * There is an additional €5 pet fee, which is not included in the price. This was surprising considering that the nightly rate is already quite high. * The listing says that pets are allowed, but in reality, only dogs under 5 kg are allowed and cats are not. This restriction was not mentioned anywhere in the listing. Since the booking was non-refundable, when we wanted to cancel because we could not bring our cats, the host offered only a 50% refund.
