About this house rental
Traveler's Retreat is a quiet cottage on a beautiful neighborhood street in Historic Savannah. Just a few minutes walk from Forsyth Park, this Beach Institute gem is a refuge from the rush and the throngs of the downtown. Set back amongst the squares and side streets of Old Savannah, with its lush, private courtyard and cool, diffused light, our hope is that you will find that the Retreat is the perfect place to recharge after a long day of salt and sun on Tybee, or seeing the sights in downtown.
The master bedroom has a custom made king bed, and en suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the main bathroom has a clawfoot tub and shower. The kitchen is newly updated, with an electric range, oven, and microwave, and all the amenities you will need to make yourself at home. The couch in the living room folds out to comfortably sleep two more, and there is a dining room off of the kitchen that seats six.
Washer/dryer, television, linens, towels, shampoo, body wash, and conditioner are provided. And if you are bringing equipment like kayaks, bikes, or items for the beach, we have a separate storage building on the property to keep your belonging secure without bringing the great outdoors inside with you.
Traveler's Retreat is your private residence in Savannah, and it's good for couples, families with kids, and groups of friends.

This is a great place to spend time in Savannah. Very comfortable and well appointed. Great location for exploratory walks with parking on the street. One word of caution would be that the master bed is quite high but host has a stool there if needed. Savannah has many interesting sights so be sure to check out the city and the surrounding areas.Our host was always quick to answer any question and very helpful.

We loved Savannah and staying in the Traveler's Retreat! Its location was great and enabled us to walk to many sites and restaurants. Street parking was easy! The house was welcoming with lovely decor and wonderful photographs. Every indoor inch was impeccably clean. Everything we needed was available; we didn't do any cooking but the kitchen was well stocked. We just ate a few quick breakfasts, lunches and snacks here (what we brought from home). The beds were comfy and linens were fresh and bright, very much appreciated after walking the gorgeous squares and neighborhoods of Savannah. Closets allowed us to hang most clothes. A long table in the dining area gave us the space to play games/cards during a little down time, as we did on the one rainy afternoon we experienced.The small backyard is charming with its jasmine wall and nestled table and chairs. We were surprised at how quiet the vibrant neighboorhood was, both day and night. Jack was a super host and communicated attentively. It was nice to meet him one afternoon when he was working outdoors at the house, as we were leaving for Tybee Island.Tybee Island is a must see/do, a sweet little beach town, minutes away. I was able to get my soft-shell "softies" crabs at Stingray Restaurant there. Many great restaurants await you in Savannah. We enjoyed Public Kitchen & Bar, Crystal Beer Parlor and The Olde Pink House. So, fall in love with Savannah, and make your home base Traveler's Retreat!Carmen Carter

Wonderful stay, property was very clean and decorated with art and natural materials exactly as we would wish. The host friendly and helpful. We had no problems with parking and moved our car as suggested by the host. Particularly appreciate the excellent lighting, good for reading and rarely found in rental properties. Also appreciated the wooden floors, nice area rugs and sweet front porch. We could walk everywhere and just a quick 1/2 mile walk to the grocery store. We hope to come back and stay here again.

Just as advertised! Clean, quiet 2 bedroom home, within the historic district. Easy walk to parks, museums, and strolling through the district. About a 20 minute walk to the river district, which was fine for us. There's also a free shuttle that picks up a couple of blocks away
