Rude to families – we won’t return

Families with children be warned. From day one, the male manager was unfriendly, scolding us for “noise” when our kids were just playing in our room in the afternoon. At the pool we were constantly watched. Every splash from the kiddie pool got us a remark, and I was even told when doing a lap with the kids in the kiddy pool with floaties on, “watch the kids or maybe you leave tomorrow.” This made us and our children feel uncomfortable, so we avoided using the hotel pool and bar. On the positive side, the pool itself is nice, clean, with a bar and 80s music, and the female manager was polite(r). Rooms are very basic and outdated, but with a nice balcony.

Perfect base away from busy party area for Exploring Corfu

We stayed at Joylife in Melitsa with no particular expectations, and we really enjoyed our time there. It's a simple and well kept, three-star hotel with everything you need if you're planning to spend most of your days exploring the island, as we did. It is about 15 min walk to Sidari, the closest beach and more populated area, there you can find busses to many other beaches as well. There is also a supermarket right next to the hotel. The owners were truly fantastic—warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The service is very basic, but that suited us perfectly. We weren’t looking for luxury or room service. One thing to note: during our stay, there was limited warm water available, which was a bit inconvenient, especially in the mornings. That said, the incredible swimming pool more than made up for it—it’s genuinely one of the best we've ever had the pleasure of using, and became a highlight of our stay. And we can’t forget to mention their little dog Dolly—she’s the sweetest girl ever and made us feel even more at home. Overall, if you're after a relaxed, no-frills place with good people, a great pool, and a very sweet dog, Joylife is a solid choice.

Great hotel, wish it was closer to the centre.

The rooms pool area and bar were very clean and tidy, I was very impressed especially the pool area. I'm not a pool man but it looked amazing. My room was great and had a pool view which made it extra special. Sophia was great friendly and helpful.

The air con unit was very loud and probably could have someone look at it, it shouldn't make that noise. There was a kettle and cups for my coffee/ tea in the morning which was great but weirdly no spoons to stir my drink.

You get what you pay for!

No sink in the kitchen area to wash up . Outdated but acceptable. Very dangerous trying to manoeuvre out of the hotel as it is on a bend with no visibility.

Ideal hotel at a great price

The hotel was ideal for what we wanted. Nice and quite,very clean rooms and hotel,pool was great,lovely walks into Sidari,food was good and Sophia the owner was very helpful and friendly.We can see why people return year after year.

Nice stay in Sidari

The hotel itself was very beautiful, and the location was fine. The walk to the centre/beach was 20 mins which is perfectly do-able! (only not in 40 degrees haha). The pool was also very nice and luxe, it was just a pity that we couldn't enjoy it fully. Sofia was very very nice in letting us leave our suitcases in the lobby for an entire afternoon, and she was also very kind at checkout. I would recommend this hotel, but not with bigger groups! :)

We were with a group of 30 students, and we struggled with a prejudice that we felt like the owner had against us. Before we got the keys to our rooms she asked to speak to the group about the house rules (which is fine of course), but in it she also mentioned that we could only be with 10 people in the (very big) pool at the same time. This felt very unfair, especially as we behaved perfectly fine, and we couldn't find this rule anywhere on the signs around the property. Overall the stay was fine, but we just felt like this is not the best place for a bigger group to stay. A couple of the airconditioning units were broken, this was a bummer, as the rooms got very hot, but we did get our money back :) Also be aware of the fact that the walk from the centre is very dark at night, as there aren't a lot of lamppost on the side of the road.

Bad

Great pool

Ive been travelling all around Europe but this is the worst place I have ever been so far. Bad smell in the room and toilet. No hands soap. The bed was the most uncomfortable of my life… felt like sleeping on the floor. Mosquitos and birds nest everywhere. I was suppose to stay there 5 nights but left after one.

Pleasant

The host is very nice. Overall it was ok but I wouldn't recommend it.

There were no blankets in the first night, only some sheets which were not in a good shape. The dust was all over the furniture and it l wasn't cleaned by the staff. Also the cleaning ladies did not respect the schedule they were supposed to. I came in the evening tired and I found them cleaning at 6PM (schedule communicated was between 10am and 2pm in my absence only). They told me to wait on the balcony for half an hour. Not ok to waste my time on my holiday. Also, the accomodation is very far away from the beach and from the city center, I had to take taxi every evening. Forgot to mention... I asked for an iron at the reception and I received a very dirty one, sticky, with a lot of dust on it.

Short stay, fantastic swimming pool

Nice and quiet hotel, big family rooms with terrace. Fantastic swimming pool, probably up to 3 metres deep at one end. The best Greek pastries with spinach or feta cheese I ever had. Greetings to the lovely host Sophie who looked after us very well

The hotel was really nice, I specially enjoyed metting the owner and the overall feeling of the hotel was really nice and relaxing. Quiet and family place where you can recharge your batteries :)

Exceptional

Sofia, was the sweetest person I ever meet. She was always available to help. I have not enough words to say how much I appreciate her. The hotel deserve more then 3 stars, was clean, rooms were biger then I expected. The pool was always clean, quiet environment. Was a pleasure and would love to go back one day.

Superb

The owner of the hotel is really amazing. Very warm and helpful person. The room was big and all the facilities were alright for the short stay. It was very cheap in comparison to other hotels and still not that far away from the centre (15-20 minutes on foot). Just needed to be careful, especially during night, cause not the whole road from the city to the hotel got the pavement.

Very friendly and helpfull staff.

There is no kitchenware. There is not even plate or knife. If you buy water melon, there is nothing to cut it with. Swimming pool is closed in the morning till 9:00? and again closed after 18:00. What is really boring, because beach is approx.30min away.

Disappointing

Location not great ,nearly 2 kilometres from town on a country road ,no lighting , I liked the walk in the day time only 5euro for taxi ,hotel opposite. Not much else around it

The shower was tiny with a horrible plastic curtain, bathroom smelly ,every time you opened the bathroom door there was mosquitos, even though it was windowless, must have come from drain, we were eaten alive despite sprays, creams, plugins ,etc., owner not very friendly,

La corrente si attiva solo con la key nel dispositivo nella stanza, vicino alle chiavi, e mi hanno accusato di aver lasciato la key nel dispositivo anche quando non ero in stanza, diffamazioni/accuse inutili,

Niet naar onze verwachting!

Ruim slaapgedeelte, met de auto 5 minuten van een gezellig centrum vandaan, overdag het zwembad.

Helaas liepen wij tegen een aantal onaangenaamheden aan waardoor we na de eerste nacht hebben besloten te vertrekken. We vonden het jammer dat het zwembad al om 19:00 uur dichtging, maar hier hebben wij zelf in de advertentie overheen gelezen. Er waren nog wat andere dingen, waar het hotel niet zoveel aan kon doen, maar die wel meegenomen werden in onze beslissing. Waar het hotel wel tekort schoot was; wij vonden de bedden erg hard + de hele badkamervloer liep vol met water als je douchte. Tot slot werkte de airco ons inziens niet tot nauwelijks (hij deed een hele nacht over 1 graad afkoelen, terwijl we de temperatuur wel koeler hadden ingesteld). Mede door die warmte dus erg slecht geslapen. We waren niet van plan een slechte recensie te schrijven (hebben we nog nooit gedaan), maar de doorslaggevende factor om dit toch te doen was de defensieve reactie van de mevrouw bij de receptie toen we de punten aangaven. Mijn man is airco-monteur van beroep, maar kreeg onder andere als reactie te horen dat hij niet zou begrijpen hoe airco’s werken. Jammer dat als je zelf vriendelijk en respectvol iets probeert uit te leggen, je toch een defensieve, onaangename reactie krijgt. Ons inziens kom je altijd verder met iemand vriendelijk te woord staan :). Toen mijn man begon over geld/terugbetaling werd hij aan het begin van de zin al afgekapt, hij mocht niet uitpraten, we kregen absoluut niks terug, dit terwijl booking.com aangeeft dat als je annuleert voor of tijdens je verblijf, je alleen de eerste nacht hoeft te betalen. Echter wij hadden geen energie of tijd voor een discussie in onze vakantie, dus we zijn gegaan. Achteraf hadden we beter moeten weten, er zijn een behoorlijk aantal recensies over de gastvrouw welke schokkend zijn, dat doet je toch nadenken aan welke partij dat dan ligt…

Nicht perfekt, aber für den Preis definitiv zu empfehlen!

Der Pool vor Ort ist toll und die Lage ist abgelegen und ruhig, man kommt aber trz überall hin. Zudem sehr netter Empfang.

Die Unterkunft ist schon etwas älter, das heist die Zimmer müffeln ein bisschen, trz Reinigungskraft… Zudem hat die Dusche keine Tür, nur einen halben Vorgang, was immer wider zu halben Überschwemmungen führt.

Il mio arrivo (notturno, ma ben premiato) a Corfù

La gentilezza e la disponibilità dello Staff, sono arrivata di notte tardi e ho trovato una mappa per accedere alla mia camera, insieme alle chiavi. Posizione ottima, a circa 1,8 km da una delle calette più belle viste a Corfù, percorrendo una passeggiata piena di taverne e ristorantini tipici dove pranzare. Camera ampia e spaziosa dotata di ogni comfort con vista sul verde. Sì, tornerei!

Rapport qualité/ prix et hôtel déçevant

L’emplacement était bien. Il y avait la clim.

On est déçues par la qualité de la chambre au vu du prix payé. Elle est vieillotte, ne dispose pas de moyens de cuisiner (il y avait seulement des verres, une cuillère et un couteau pour deux). En arrivant, la salle de bain était infestée de moustiques, collés au plafond, rendant désagréable l’utilisation de la salle de bain. En demandant une solution pour les faire partir, la dame à la réception nous rit au nez.

Buena experiencia en Joy Hotel

Sofía era una persona muy agradable. Nos dio las indicaciones que necesitabamos para nuestra visita. Incluso nos ayudó amablemente con las dudas que surgieron. La habitación era grande y nos hizo un upgrade gratuito al llegar. La cama era bastante cómoda y el apartamento estaba muy limpio. Definitivamente una buena opción si estás por la zona. Repetiríamos sin duda.

Estuvimos dos noches y no encontramos nada negativo, nuestra estancia fue agradable.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft mit Pool und tollem Personal. Gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis und ein ruhiger Aufenthalt.

Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal, es wurde täglich das Zimmer gereinigt und es war sehr ruhig.

La salle de bain : moitié de rideau de douche, fuite au niveau du bac de douche. On met de l'eau partout au sol. Climatisation qui fuite a l'extérieur. Pas de rideau opaque et pas de volet (réveillés par la lumière du jour).
