Gortamullen House is a beautiful tranquil stay. Margaret, our host, was an absolutely lovely lady & very warm & welcoming. We loved our continental breakfast with gorgeous homemade brown bread, beautiful warm croissants, a pot of coffee & beautiful fresh fruit salad, yogurt, muesli (& porridge if we wanted) & lovely hot toast. We were very satisfied with ourselves after finishing our breakfast. Her bedroom & ensuite were very restful & bright. The character of the house is traditional farmhouse, was so bright & inviting & a lovely calm place to stay. We loved it. We'll definitely go back again. Thank you for looking after us so well. Beautiful house in a beautiful setting, minutes walk from the village. Comfortable bed and very quiet, which meant I had a good night's sleep. The host was lovely. Unobtrusive and experienced. Offered some great tips. Nice breakfast. Loved it. Highly recommend.

Very quiet location. I enjoyed sitting in the sun on the patio when we arrived. There was a snug to watch tv and a breakfast room on the main floor. Stairs were narrow but not steep. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was a nice change from full Irish, with breads, cereal, fruit and yogurt. Coffee was very good.
There was a dog outside who howled from the time we arrived and I finally messaged the owner at 9 p.m. It was very quiet after that.
