Great hosts, great location - place just looks a bit tired.

Great location and very comfy bed! TV choice great. Overall good facilities

Sofa-bed very uncomfortable. The photographs on the web-site were very different to the reality of the accommodation. It felt like it needed a bit of tlc.

Quirky Accommodation, great host with a few issues.

The owner was very friendly and made you feel welcome and was great at communicating. Such a nice person and host. The accommodation was very quirky and located in a great area.

The main bed was too soft for us and the cabin could do with a deep clean. We say this due to the following: bathroom was dirty as the sink had toothpaste marks in off previous guests, the bin bag had what looked like sick in it, we had to change it, shower tray could have done with a wipe out. A very slight covering of dust on light switches only! A couple of cobwebs here and there. But a few of these issues are down to how picky we are. But please don't let the above put you off as these issues were mostly an oversight by the host.

Most amazing stay, highly recommend it!

Loved everything about the cabin, previous guests left cafitere unclean but put back and looked unused. Not hosts fault, but no kitchen roll to clean it out into a bin, so that would be a great addition! I had to use toilet roll to get the grounds out and put in bin instead of clogging drain.

Absolutrly nothing not to like! The place is beautiful, a diamond. In the most unexpected place you'd expect to find it! Met by the younv daughter of the family and their beautiful Staffie!

Beautifully cosy cabin

Really lovely and cosy cabin, spacious and all the facilities you would need. So much nicer than staying in a hotel, more space, quiet and free carparking. We ordered a takeaway to be delivered and the tracking didn't work so they went to the main house and Margaret kindly brought it out to us. Really easy to get to and find and close to Chester centre.

Ok for a short budget stay

Convenient location, close to Chester Zoo and the park and ride. Easy check-in and although small is adequete for a short stay.

There was a stale smell upon entering the property, which got worse when opening the kitchen cupboards. This limited us to the one tea-towel for washing up, as all the spares carried the same smell. It was difficult to keep the accommodation a nice temperature, as it went from freezing to uncomfortably hot with the radiators on. The shower was also a bit on the hot side and drained very slowly.

A beautiful cabin!

Margaret is lovely and very welcoming! The cabin is so beautiful, and very private. It has everything you need inside and the bed is very comfortable. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk already here too ( we forgot to bring some so we were made up!) It is very clean throughout, we will definitely come here again. There is also a gate with a field and park directly behind the cabin which is great for children. Chester city centre is only 5 minute drive 😊

The sofa bed is great but the side the pulls out was quite uncomfortable, although there is a mattress topper which we put on top making it not so bad

Such a gorgeous little gem, close enough to everything you’d want in Chester! Lovely host, genuinely thought of anything you might need for your stay in the cabin and the most comfortable nights sleep I’ve had in a long time! Already planning another trip back here :)

Good location, lovely host, Full Sky TV with Netflix, plentiful tea and coffee making facilities (even with fresh coffee) It makes a lovely change to actually turn up and find everything exactly as it was advertised I will definitely be staying there again

Cosy and welcoming

It was so clean and cosy perfect for a few days away, the owner was so helpful and has gone above and beyond with everything (even after our stay) couldn’t recommend this place more and only 10 minutes away from the centre too and Chester zoo!

Margaret was lovely, we were a little sceptical upon arrival in all honesty as we weren't aware the location was so close to Margaret's home. We had no need to be however! Although its at the back of her yard, the layout and the fact there's absolutely no noise from the home makes it feel as though youre secluded. On top of that, Margaret being so close by was handy as when we had a slight issue with the sky/Internet, Margaret was there within minutes and sorted it out for us, thank you!

The only slight niggle i could even pick at is that the Internet connection wasn't the best but this is a very minor inconvenience and when it was on it was brilliant! I also think this isn't something super important when staying in a cabin.

Location, quick to get into the Chester on bus. The sofa was very comfy.

The bedroom was small making it difficult to get into bed. The step into the bathroom and bedroom was a trip hazard

Cosy, private, clean lodge that was a pleasure to stay in

We visited Chester Zoo and parkrun which meant The Lodge was right in the middle of everything. It was clean, comfortable, cosy and private. It felt as though you were staying in a forest. We met the host by timing and she was such a pleasure and couldn't do enough for us. Parking was very easy. We will be back.

We did have some snail marks on our shoes overnight, not sure how they got in and it's not the hosts fault but something for them to be aware of!

Great location, clean and a cosy cabin for one night stay.

The Cabin is a little cosy place, in the garden of the owners. Was great for a one night stay. Given it is a cabin, there is a bit of dust smell but we got past that. It is a cute place with what you need for a one night stay. Host was excellent. Had great instructions as to how to get to the property.

Nothing we didn't like. It can get noisy at night if there is wind/rain which there was.

Everything was perfect, lovely host and the cabin was spotless. Check in was easy. Host communication was great, asked about the heating and got a reply within a few minutes. Cabin has everything you need. Would be very surprised if anyone could find an issue.

Unique, cosy holiday home

Lovely, cosy well equipped cabin, ideal for a relaxing break. Sky Tv was a great bonus as well as thoughtful extras provided, such as milk, toiletries, salt/ sauces etc. Margaret the host is a very pleasant and obliging lady, who kindly offered to return the phone charger we left .
