Rather overpriced considering the size of the room (which was ridiculously tiny). Can't say I felt there was any value for my money, this room wasn't worth €22 a night, at the most €18 a night would have been more then enough.

Quiet guesthouse near centre with very small rooms.

Clean private room with comfy double bed in a quiet guesthouse in Craiova, southwest Romania. En-suite bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. Hand soap in bathroom, plus a small rubbish bin. Toilet also in bathroom. 2 hooks to hang towells. Large shower space. A small hand towell and long bath towell provided and included in room price. Bed sheet and pillow with cover proved, also sheet to cover oneself. No duvet. Heating and airc conditon in room. Small TV on wall. Presumed it worked, but didn't use it. One small table in room. One small wardrobe in room, coat hangers in wardrobe. 2 hooks on wall in bedroom. Small mat on floor in bedroom. Small mat on floor in bathroom. Free WiFi, reasonable speed. Information on how to enter property is provided via email from Booking.com. Code to access keys for box outside guesthouse. Key to open main door and another key for the room. Several rooms in guesthouse, but I was the only guest on the dates mentioned in this review. Guesthouse located in quiet street, on-street parking maybe available, maybe free. 5 minute walk to a reasonably priced restaurant-bar, open for breakfast and stays open til late. City centre is a 10-15 minute walk. A bus stop near the restaurant goes to-from central bus-train stations. Just inside entrance to building is a table with 2 comfy chairs. There is a kettle on a low table inside the main door with plastic cups and tea and sugar available. A Romanian speaking lady seems to be at the guesthouse in the day. She speaks no English, but can help make fruit flavoured tea. Rooms are up stairs. There is an inner courtyard with metal tables and chairs.

Room is extremely small. Enough room for one person, but two people would be a struggle. The double bed is big enough for 2 people, but not the room. The bathroom might accommodate two people, just! But only if they have small luggage. I booked for one person, so it was adequate. The information sent by Booking.com was confusing. I think they sent pictures for the code to get the keys and I didn't understand and had to call the owner/manager to get the code to open the box to access the keys. This is on the wall near the main door. Only access to rooms is by steep stairs. WiFi was slow and very unstable at times. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Difficult to get information about places to eat or directions to centre. No atmosphere in guesthouse. Owner could have been more helpful. No English spoken. No shower curtain in shower, water goes everywhere. No shower soap proved.

Disappointing

Close to the city center, around 8 minutes walk.

The instructions on how to get to the room were very poor, it took me 5 minutes to find it. The room did not even have a proper number on it. Door knob was not properly functioning! There was no wardrobe. WiFi was not working at all!! The shower was separated from the toilet. The bathroom door was hitting the toilet and you couldn't close it, that's how small the place was. The shower was so small I could barely enter inside. Very hard to find a parking place. Very expensive for what they are offering.

Excellent quality/price ratio

The location was excellent - just a 15-20 minute walk from the city centre and Park Nicolae Romanescu. The rooms were very clean and nice, even though they were very small, the beds were very comfortable. Overall, the place is very good for that price, an excellent choice for travellers on a budget.

The staff did not speak English, but it was fine, we managed to communicate somehow. The rooms were very small, but I think they were OK for that price.

Old building that smells.

Host was not a bad person, but that is the limit.

Mold smell, could hardly sleep after a few hours of leaving the window open. If you were 70kg+ you could not enter the bathroom because the WC blocked the door at 30°. Towels smelled. Very bad price/offering. Super hot, the rooms being "in the attic" and you had to go search for a AC remote at the reception, and that is if you see them by mistake behind the counter when you self check in.
