About this villa rental
This is a beautiful remote tranquil villa surrounded by 5 hectares of olive and almond groves plus other fruit trees in the immediate gardens around the villa. Help yourself to any ripe fruits. Although nestling in the mountains near Alora the villa is only 15 minutes from civilisation. The villa is equipped with all the modern appliances you need. All you need to do is throw some clothes in a bag. This three bedroom villa is solely for the use of 2 guests. No one else to bother you. There is also the added bonus of a jacuzzi bath.
The ancient white washed town of Alora is steeped in history. The area was settled since prehistorical times, and was exploited for its commercial position by Tartessos and by the Phoenicians, who most likely built the castle. The Romans, after their conquest of Spain, restored the fortress and had here a municipium known as Iluritanum, as attested by an inscription dating to 79 BC. Nowadays there is plenty to see and do and a great selection of restaurants and bars. This is also a great location to explore great Spanish attractions nearby, El Chorro Gorge, Caminito del Rey walkway and of course the beautiful lakes . The coast is 45 minutes away by car or train.

We had a wonderful stay at this spacious villa near Álora. The road up is rugged but in good condition, and the peaceful setting makes it well worth it. The villa is thoughtfully laid out with a large kitchen and dining area, cozy living room, and a beautiful covered lanai that leads to a small pool and lounge space. Upstairs has a master with ensuite and two generous bedrooms.The outdoor living space was a favorite—stunning views of the mountains and valleys, total privacy, and a lovely pool. The gardens are beautiful, and we especially enjoyed the olive and almond trees that add to the charm and serenity of the property.It also serves as a great home base for day trips to Gibraltar, Alora, Cordoba, Granada and Ronda.Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax, recharge, and explore the region.

Villa was very clean on arrival. No real issues with anything onsite. Wifi is ok for emails but would not be up to much more, again notva issue for us. The road to the Villa is partially unmade but is perfectly useable and better than some we have had before. If you require peace and isolation then this is for you.

Beautiful property in a wonderfully isolated location. Complete privacy and peace and quiet. The property has everything you could need including a very well appointed kitchen, refreshing pool and both indoor and outdoor dining areas. The villa was very comfortable even in the very hot conditions we experienced including effective air conditioning in the rooms that need it most. The drive up to the property is quite an adventure and recommend a reasonably robust car to handle it.

We had a lovely 8 days at Villa Van Gogh. Communication with Derek was timely and he provided comprehensive instructions. There is a reasonable drive up into the moi trains and we were grateful that Pepe met us at a nearby restaurant to guide us up to the villa. The property is fantastic and has the most amazing views over the valley. The infinity pool was a perfect size for the two of us and provided some much needed cooling from the ever present sun. The aircon in the bedroom was excellent and there was also a fantastic spa bath which was wonderful after a day in the sun. The villa is very well appointed with all basic provisions (salt,oil etc) available.
Malaga airport is about 50 mins away and Marbella and Puerta Banos just over an hour. Overall this was a perfect tranquil holiday and we highly recommend it
