TOULOUSE DUPLEX PLACE DU CAPITOLE

Stephane the host was very pleasant and helpful, met us to check us in and to check out. Recently renovated and very nice apartment with everything you need. Good kitchen, including coffee machine. Location is amazing, right at Capitole Square which is in the centre of Toulouse. Close walk to great cafes and bars and shops.

Bedroom is up some curvey stairs which could cause issues for anyone with mobility issues. No air conditioning, which was an issue because of the heatwave but I imagine would be fine otherwise.

The accommodation was in a brilliant location. It was clean and had everything necessary for our stay. The bed was very comfortable, and the lounge had lovely large windows with a view of the main square. Our host was very friendly and helpful, with good recommendations for restaurants.

There was limited hot water, so we had to have very quick showers to ensure enough hot water for two people to shower. Also to note, even though the Booking.com details specify that toiletries are included, they are not, so you just need to be aware that you need to bring your own. It would be nice to have hand soap in the accommodation as this is not something you would normally pack.

The location is great if you want to be in the heart of the capital, near all the shops, restaurants and sights.

Being in the middle of all the action can also be a problem. Especially, if an event, such as a rugby match, is being broadcast in Place du Capitole. The police had the perimeter of the entire area blocked off and access was allowed only through certain check points, in which you and your belongings were searched. Unfortunately, the entrance to the apartment was inside this perimeter, so we were subjected to interrogation and searches every time we passed through. Be sure to know what, if any, events are taking place in that area before you go. Also, during the time we were there, the temperatures rose into the 100°F. The apartment does not have air conditioning and became unbearable to stay in, so between that and the rugby event, we chose to stay elsewhere for an additional cost. Be aware that the elevator is out of commission and the apartment is two flights up. Also, there's a spiral staircase within the apartment that may be difficult for some to use, since it is very narrow and does not have a railing. We do not fault the host of the apartment for any of these issues. It was just bad timing and planning on our part. Our host was very accommodating and did his best to help in a situation that was beyond his control.

Excepcional comportamiento del anfitrión, que se prestó en todo momento a ayudarnos con la recuperación de nuestro equipaje extraviado en el aeropuerto. Comunicación super fluida. Recogida y entrega de llaves muy fácil. Excelente ubicación del apartamento. Céntrico, pero no se escuchaba nada de la calle.

Faltaban algunas cosas básicas de menaje: nada para lavarse las manos y aún menos para ducharse. Papel higiénico justito y no habían servilletas/rollos de cocina o similar, ni trapos. No obstante, volvería sin pensarlo.
