Amazing location with a view of the ocean, the kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies, and the beds were comfortable. Rita, was so sweet and left us some treats for our stay.

We didn’t dislike anything during our stay but as Americans we had a little confusion trying to find the apartment. We count the ground floor as the first floor and the instructions said second floor apartment. It took a minute to find the place but that was our fault.

Lovely apartment ran by wonderful hosts.

The property has a full kitchen, washing machine, AC, and a balcony. The hosts are quick to respond and very helpful. They met us to hand over the keys and provided a tour of the apartment.

The property is as listed, no surprises. The beds are not the comfiest we slept in our trip. Other than that the only other down side is the stairs but overall they are not that bad and the property is only a short walk up from the beach.

We visited all 5 villages and Monterosso was our favorite so our stay at Rita’s place was perfect

Rita and her husband, the hosts, were amazing. Rita was very helpful with any questions and gave us a great recommendation for dinner. There was beer, wine, water and chips for us at arrival. There was as a washer and drying rack which was very handy. The view of the Sea from the patio was great.

Beautiful apartment with views of the ocean

I loved everything about this property. Rita and her husband were so helpful and truly cared that we were comfortable. They really went above and beyond putting water in the refrigerator, leaving us beach towels, and leaving us snacks. Very thoughtful. The apartment has a washing machine with drying rack. The views from the balcony are amazing. We sat out in the balcony every night and listened to the sound of the ocean. Everything was so close by and short walk. A little grocery market was less than 5 minutes away. I will definitely be staying here again. I highly recommend. If you are driving a car they have secure gated parking for 20 euros a day. The apartment is in a beautiful community with pretty landscaping. It is very safe, quiet, and secure.

Everything was amazing! Only thing I would say is if you have mobility issues the apartment is up 3 flight of stairs.

It was a lovely well appointed homey apartment. Rita the owner met us and left cold water, beer and wine in the fridge and lollies and chips and biscuits on the table. The family appreciated these after travelling and it was a warm day. The apartment is a short relatively flat walk from Monterosso station. It has great views toward the ocean and a lovely balcony with table and chairs. It is nicely decorated with a seaside feel. Beds were comfortable and air conditioning worked well. The kitchen had everything we needed for our family of four and there was a washing machine too.

Grouting in the shower looked like it needs a good bleach or replacement. A safe would also be handy but the front door was very solid.

Beautiful stay in Monterosso al Mare

Location was perfect. Close to the train station as well as to the beach in a quiet neighborhood. Clean and large living space. AC units in the bedrooms. Kitchen was well stocked and the host even left some water and drinks.

This property was perfect for us. We lived where it was located and the true Italian beach vibe was wonderful.. also loved to balcony.

!! BEWARE of additional charges !!

We booked a 2 bed apartment for 2 adults and 1 child 10 months before our stay. 7 months before our stay, I contacted the host Rita via booking.com to notify her that 2 additional adults (our parents) were coming to join us. Rita confirmed by booking.com messenger that this was totally fine as the apartment (which accommodates 5) was big enough for all of us. Rita made no mention of additional charges or the need to amend booking details. On arrival, Rita demanded extra money for the 2 additional adults, initially requesting 100% additional in cash for the 2 extra adults. She eventually came down to 50% extra which equated to €700 extra. To be clear, this booking was not for a hotel or B&B but for self catered apartment. I appreciate a small additional per person charge to cover towels, extra energy etc but €700 more with no advance warning is incredibly unfair. The host also said her costs had gone up since we booked 10months ago but isn’t this the point of booking in advance? The host has chosen to fix the price at the time of booking. There were no additional booking charges on booking.com’s system so if we had updated the reservation with 4 adults prior to arrival, there would have been no additional charge as far as booking.com were concerned. If we had known there were additional charges in advance, we probably would have accepted and budgeted it in or made alternative arrangements but to be sprung with significant additional costs on arrival is totally unacceptable behaviour from the host. Messages via booking.com even though recorded don’t seem to count for much. If you choose to stay here after reading this then please be aware that you may be hit with additional charges for which booking.com will offer you as the customer no support. After 6+ calls with booking.com who refused to mediate or negotiate with the host, we were left with no option but to pay the additional charge as there were no suitable alternative accommodations available in the area.

location of the property was excellent, walking distance from the train station and just off the beach. Rita and her husband met us at the property and were so welcoming and helpful. we stayed in 5 different areas around Italy on our trip and this was all of our favourites, highly recommend.

Near perfection in paradise location

A fantastic location and host that goes the extra yard to see you have a great time. Rita would be one of the best hosts we have ever had. We arrived late so couldn't get a meal. Rita had left some wine, chips, biscuits and milk for us. we survived till morning. Thanks Rita :)

Impeccable

This apartment is the best in this trip. Location is excellent, a few minutes walk from station. House is big, comfortable and clean, well equipped bath room and kitchen. We like this lovely holiday home especially the hosts are so kind, welcome gift (wine & snack), early check-in and bags drop after check-out, useful tourist information and suggestion.

It was very well located but because we visited during the winters, the heat radiators had timings and it was uncomfortable at times. Many steps to reach to the flat.

Fantastic hosts that make you feel so welcome.

I really wanted to give this property 10 out of 10 mainly because Rita and Giovanni are fantastic people. Giovanni met us at the train station to escort us to the apartment and Rita has such a bubbly personality. The reason I can’t give 10 / 10 is because lounge area of the apartment, the kitchen and bathroom were uncomfortably cold at night when the heating was turned off. This was due to heating restrictions currently in place but it could have been such a cheap fix by providing a portable fan heater or two. The bedrooms had reverse cycle air con so they were able to keep warm. The property itself, there are a number of steps if you have heavy luggage there can be too many steps. The apartment was clean, tidy and well presented. Rita provided a few extra goodies, a bottle of wine and some snacks.

the apartment was so charming and so close to everything!! the bed was super comfortable and the house was stocked with everything we would need and more!! Rita met us at the train station and showed us to the property. it was super kid friendly as well!!

They should have beach towels to use for the beach- we didn’t have many bath towels and so just used a hand towel to dry off at the beach.

Great place, great view, lovely hosts - highly recommend

Our family loved this apartment, the balcony was an oasis every night to watch the sun go down. Its so close to the beach, train station and restaurants. Rita even met us and walked us to the property.

Wonderful apartment and highly recommended.

This apartment was perfect for us. We loved the terrace and the living room where we could relax in the morning and in the evening after going out and seeing the towns. We loved the location. That apartment is bright and cheerful and spacious. We also liked the individual air conditioners in the bedrooms.

The beds were a little harder than we are used to, but we slept well.

Fantastic people. Fantastic homestay. Fantastic location.

Super sweet older couple were very professional and friendly. Place was large and immaculate. They let us use their beach umbrella and blanket, gave us tips for traveling around the area, and were present as soon as we arrived. Even gave us free drinks and cookies. Super reasonable price and great view with balcony. Would definitely stay again. 4 minutes from train station but quiet location.
