A quiet location in easy walking distance to the centre of town, and even closer to a charming riverside path. Parking right outside the entrance was very convenient. The place was cheerful and clean, the shower worked fine (albeit water pressure was a bit low) and the windows opened wide to air the room during a very hot spell. There were generous sockets and extension leads.

The bedding provision was a bit modest - the pillows were few and insubstantial, and even though we booked for 3 guests, we only got two single blankets (luckily we had a sleeping bag with us). The stairs leading to the apartment from the building entrance had seen better days: the treads had worn unevenly, so one had to take care, which was tricky with suitcases. The building entrance was unlocked when we arrived and weren't told whether it ever locked - there were no keys provided and so if it did lock, we wouldn't have had access, and if it didn't, in a dodgier part of town I'd have worried about security. The outside corridor had many interesting smells, dominated by stale tobacco. The owner insisted on a deposit against breakages, which made me very aware of all the half-broken things in the apartment like a wonky chair, a mirror pane that kept half-sliding out from its frame, and a missing piece in the kettle handle. I feel that if one is going to offload responsibility for breakages to guests, one should keep everything in very good repair in the first place. There was no brush and dustpan provided so no easy way of cleaning up before we left. A few hooks for hanging clothes in the bathroom would have been very useful.

Self check in, good and friendly host and also the opportunity to check out later. The apartment is good for short stays.
