This was the perfect secret getaway for a couple like us looking for a bit of peace and quiet. Tucked away behind a house on the harbour at beautiful historic Charlestown, this little cosy nook is an ideal base for exploring this corner of Cornwall. We were kept busy all week without travelling more than 20 mins away - Eden, Mevagissey, Fowey, Heligan and Charlestown itself. The hosts were helpful but unobtrusive. There was a beautiful terraced garden (steep steps) just for usand a conservatory. We'd certainly have made use of all of that if the weather had been better. It was surprisingly cold for June and the thoughtful hosts had left the heating on low so we could be comfortable. The bed and linen was lovely. The shower was the best shower I've ever used - so powerful and right next to the hot water tank so it was full on hot immediately. Loads of storage space. It was SOOO clean - almost like it had been freshly painted for us (maybe it had!). I have never said that about a holiday cottage before - I have high standards. And the parking just outside was such a boon. And Charlestown is really cute - several eateries and a few craft shops, a lovely harbour and a quite nice beach. It's rare for me to say this (high standards, as I said...) but I would definitely come back to the cottage and the town.

I really did love it so I'm picking holes to say it would have been nice to have slightly better kitchen equipment - a couple of sharper knives, a serving/mixing bowl or two etc. I've mentioned this to the hosts so hopefully it will be fixed.

Great Location. Parking outside was a bonus. Lovely cottage with a great shower. Very, very clean. Super comfortable with lovely linen and towels. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you need for a lovely holiday. Use of a beautiful garden. Thanks very much, I would definitely stay again.

The location was perfect, the accommodation was very clean, comfy bed and great shower The accommodation had everything we needed The garden was lovely and we enjoyed sitting with our cup of tea at the end of a busy day exploring before heading back out to enjoy the pubs and restaurants all within walking distance The parking outside was an added bonus Message for the host it’s great that you don’t allow pets, I am severely allergic to dogs and it’s getting harder and harder to find properties that don’t allow pets so Thank you
