I didn’t dislike this but I thought it was a bit strange. There was no breakfast. I knew that when I booked it and being from America we are used to places not having breakfast. Until we visited Ireland and every place we stayed had an incredible breakfast every morning. Even the cheapest hostel. This was the most expensive place we stayed for our whole trip and no breakfast. Just felt a bit different from the rest of our experiences.

The Sauna was amazing, the view from the sauna of the lake was stunning, the facilities were really well thought through, the accessibility of firewood everyday was a really nice touch for staying warm. The bed was so comfortable, candles in the room were romantic, the eco loo was interesting... and happy there were more loos in the main building. the main building was built so beautifully and decorated warmly, staff were very kind and friendly. I lost my earring and they found it for me, like a needle in a haystack, I don't know what the chances are. We enjoyed the cows on the property the goldfinches and the swan and geese that made a magical landing into the lake when we were in it one evening. we also liked being encouraged to disconnect from our devices. We had an adventurous hike at Benbulbin nearby, explored the bogs, Irish quicksand, and had a yummy dinner out in Donegal Town. We felt refreshed after our trip.
