This quaint apartment is perfectly located one block from Canal Street and the Street Cars. It was nice to be staying in a quiet neighborhood after the activity of the French Quarter. Matt’s place was clean, the kitchen had everything we needed to be able to prepare our own meals, dishes, glasses & cups, pots, pans, silverware and cooking utensils, coffee pot, microwave, toaster. A few condiments would be nice. There was salt & pepper and some packets left by other travelers. We did delivery groceries which was very helpful. Beds were comfortable, a couple of upgrades on sheets & pillows would be nice. Bathroom had everything we needed, towels, hand towels & washcloths. There is a hairdryer and it has a good shower. I liked the eclectic feel, with a combination of antique furniture and contemporary. It fits the character of the house. There is cool art on the walls. It is second story with a pretty steep stairway on the outside. There is a driveway, if you need parking. But the great thing about New Orleans is it has very good mass transit and very walkable. Our second evening we got back from being out all day, the apartment was hot and the ac didn’t seem to be working. I texted Matt and reported the issue. He immediately called the HVAC company and a guy was over there within an hour and fixed the problem. We found that the people of New Orleans are genuinely the nicest people. We had a great time in a beautiful city.

I type away here to recommend Matt’s place to anyone coming to NOLA for conferences and considering staying at the large hotels—Sheraton, Marriott, Westin, etc. I coordinated professional meetings for years and always recommended staying at hotels, but here I suggest you consider Matt’s place. You will be lucky to get a hotel room in the mid-300 range per night, not including considerable taxes the city adds, and you’ll likely be without a microwave and/or refrigerator. Add in the parking a car, and you’ll close in at 450-500/night. Matt’s place is a second story 2 bedroom with complete kitchen and front porch. It is not as nicely appointed as a major hotel, but its character is that of New Orleans and you’ll have the feeling of living in New Orleans rather than living in a box. Matt’s place is a 2–3-minute walk to the trolley, and you’ll have an adorable 10–to-12-minute ride which ends in front of the major hotels. Being a senior my trolley pass was 0.80/day (normally 3/day and 8/3 days). All said and done, you’ll pay considerably less per day for Matt’s place than for a hotel, parking is free, and since you’ll have 2 bedrooms, the cost is even lower if you are sharing with a colleague, and very affordable if bringing your family for a short vacation.Come to Matt’s place, attend meetings, eat downtown or at home, enjoy downtown life, and get out of the city for a peaceful night’s rest like you live in New Orleans.

We didn't cook, but it was equipped with everything you need to cook. The location was perfect. It was a couple of blocks from the streetcar stop that took us right to Canal Street. Restaurants within walking distance. It has everytjing you need to a trip to NOLA. We will definitely stay there again.

Overpriced for the quality of the apartment and amenities. 200 per night after the fees is not worth the experience here.Pictures are misleading. No wine fridge, no recliner, no music system, Roku remote did not work on either TV, different balcony furniture (old and dirty) Old used hotel toiletries; mostly conditioner with a half tube of shampoo and a small puck of bar hand soap, not the basket full in the photos. Second room window is falling apart and open to the elements allowing flies and termites to enter at will.Trash in cabinets, piles of old sticky condiment packets on the counter, broken kitchen drawer, old clothes left from other guests I assume.Beware!! Tub does not drain properly and creates a very slippery bottom for the next user. Our trip itself was great! The apartment is in a fantastic location, very centrally located and easy to get to almost anywhere in the city. It's just not maintained very well and not worth the value in my opinion.
