Terrible

This is the worst designed hotel I have ever stayed at. The bed is against the window so you have to crawl over your bed mate. There is a large wooden piece at the end of the bed that takes up all the additional space. The soap smells terrible. I will never sta at a Citizen M again.

The room is very modern and everything is operational with a tablet.

We got a very small room with the bed placed directly under the window. Meaning that if my wife wanted to get out of bed she would need to climb over me. There is now Shower room. The shower is tiny and facing the toilet, surrounded by glass. Sink is in the room itself.

Good, convenient location with nearby tram ride stops and cafes for breakfast option. Walking distance to old town, shopping, restaurants and boat ride pier.

Information sharing - I think the staff should inform us that while there is hot or cold water provided in the room, we can get it from the bar counter. I learnt it only the next day (2nd) after I asked for a kettle to boil hot water. In the meantime, we spend some money to but bottled water from the nearby supermarket on the 1st day as we did not know the fact above.. Also, some guests may not like a bed which is pegged to the wall/window i.e. the person sleeping that side would have to crawl over the other person to access the bathroom/toilet.

Well designed. Cute lobby and cafe to work in. Walkable to many places within 10-15 mins. Tram right in front of hotel.

A modern, chic hotel with excellent location

Excellent location. The room was very clean. I liked that you could control features with the iPad like lighting, temperature and how often you wanted your room cleaned. The room was warm but not too hot which was perfect. It wasn’t very noisy either, so you don’t hear the neighbours much even though the rooms are close. I also really liked that each floor has a key card too, which made me feel really safe. There was nice atmosphere.

I just wished the room had a kettle, if not a tea/coffee making facility. It was quite annoying that to get a cup of coffee in the morning, I had to get ready and go down to the cafe, and there was an extra cost. Personally whenever I stay in a hotel I look forward to having a coffee in bed whilst still in my pyjamas, so having to go down each time was such a drag. At the very least even a vending machine of hot drinks on each floor would’ve been something.

The location of the hotel is very good.

This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Despite booking a king-size room, it was extremely small. The heating did not work at all and the room was freezing. We specifically paid for a city view, yet were given a room facing the parking lot. When we raised this issue, our complaint was ignored. There were no towels or slippers in the room. When we called to request them, we were told to come downstairs and collect them ourselves. There is no room service. The staff were unhelpful and uninterested. There was no coffee machine, no kettle, and not even bottled water in the room. Other than its location, this hotel is a complete disappointment. It is very hard to understand how it is rated as a four-star hotel. I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

Reliably good quality for the hotels I have stayed in. The staff have always been helpful and personable.

My only quibble is that it would be good to have tea and coffee facilities in the room rather than just in the canteen/dining areas.

Great hotel in a great location with friendly outgoing staff.

The property was very clean and conveniently located to walk to town and the restaurants. I loved the bar and area to relax and have a glass of wine from the bar. Merlin was an outstanding bartender and host. He was very personable and professional. He gave us great dinner recommendations. Merlin was A+.

I liked everything except that the bed was hard for the person sleeping at the window to get in and out of the bed.

Overall, our stay was great.

There were 12 of us traveling in a group. The lounge area was perfect for large gatherings or to just sit at the bar alone. The location was very good. Short walks to the train station, bus station and our meeting places for several tours we took. There were many places to shop and wonderful restaurants too.

Location perfect . There was a great ambience in the hotel - very relaxed atmosphere especially in the lounge area in the evenings - people having food/ a drink/ reading a book/ on laptops / watching TV . Felt ‘very at home ‘! Staff were really helpful and pleasant . Room and bathroom spotless.

Well not a problem really but the room is very small but we were hardly in the room , touring all day . Everything else about the hotel inc location outweighed the size of the room .

Enjoyed our 3 night stay. Room wasn’t big enough or had the storage facilities for a longer stay.

Location was good. Overall the staff were very good. Room and communal areas very clean. Water available all the time in the bar. Black out blinds were very efficient.

The bed was only accessible from only one side and no bedside table on window side. Nowhere to sit in the room except a small bench. Hairdryer’s lead didn’t reach to be in front of a mirror and hairdryer was collapsible and wouldn’t stay rigid. No tea/coffee in room. Wardrobe very small and it had only one large drawer under bed so no room to unpack clothes.

No warning of dangerous beds

Nothing the experience was ruined because the management didn't listen or care about us.

The beds can only be accessed on one side, so if there is 2 people one has to climb over the other person to get out, we are in our mid 60s and have to get up in the night so this was very difficult. As soon as I seen the bed I asked to leave, but the hotel refused our request. This wasn't clear when booking so we should have been able to get another hotel. One of us could have been injured climbing out of bed in the night. Booking.com no help at all.

Booming nightclub right next door. Avoid if you want a peaceful night

Clean, room was super small but doable. Nice shower, excellent blackout shades.

There is an open air nightclub right next door in the back courtyard that was booming all night long during our 2 night stay (Fri and Sat). The bass was so loud the room was practically vibrating. It was pretty insane. It seems that the hotel has tried to mitigate with double paned windows, etc., but it is not enough. Avoid if you want standard peace and quiet.

The best experience, made my stay in Zürich!

The room was exceptionally cozy, and I chose to spend quite a lot of time there recovering from Jetlag. I liked all the modern features that it could regulate from the table in the room. The staff were exceptionally accommodating and helpful. The public areas were very comfortable and appealing to spend time in.

There is nothing that could be better, and I will always choose a Citizen M hotel when I am traveling to a location that has one of these hotels.

Best spot in Zurich!

Everything! CitizenM is in an excellent location, is very clean and the staff is super nice. Shout out to Viktoria and the other female employee originally from Guinea Bissau!! The amenities in the room are top notch and I especially loved the automatic blackout curtains and pillows. Best sleep I've had in weeks!! If you're in Zurich, there's no better place than CitizenM!
