About this cabin rental
Have you ever stayed in a real log cabin? This is the place! High on a mountain top at 4,000 ft. elevation; breath-taking view of the mountains. Will comfortably sleep six people. Queen size bed in master on first floor, loft with queen size bed. Sofa bed with new mattress that will easily sleep 2. Large real wood burning fireplace for cozing up on those chilly evenings and mornings. Early riser? Get up and have your coffee in a rocking chair under covered porch and enjoy a spectacular sunrise, birds and other wildlife. Traveling with man’s or woman’s best friend? We love your pets as much as you do and are pet friendly. Enjoy a glass of wine and relish in the magnificent afternoon sunsets. Open deck with a family-size picnic table, a gas grill for those tasty cookouts. A gazebo with relaxing hot tub for 4 overlooking a beautiful view of the mountains and sensacional sunsets. Step outside in the evenings to take in the view of the dazzling stars above. You may even see a shooting star or two! Thinking of proposing to your significant other? Our cabin has been host to many proposals over the years. The cabin is equipped with brand new appliances. As of 2017 there are brand new washer, dryer, stove and oven. Brand new Refrigerator 2024. New flatscreen smart TV (2026) and satellite internet (July 2026) All mattresses were replaced in 2022. Linens, blankets and towels are purchased and replaced regularly. As of July 2026 brand new air conditioning and heating.

It’s a perfect get away for 2 and maybe 2 kids or in our case 2 dogs. It’s small, cozy and rustic a real log cabin, nothing fancy but nothing more than you need to relax and get away from the noise. The quiet on top of the mountain is amazing and the few neighbors make it a nice solitary walk on the gravel road with the dogs. The view is beautiful a bit curtained in by the trees but the view of the next ridge is lovely. The porch is large and the hot tub is perfectly private and relaxing after a day tooling around. The AC didn’t work, which was a bit alarming, considering the temperature in Franklin was in the 80s, but the fans and fresh air was better than any AC. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. It was clean, and despite being in a forest, no bugs. It’s requested, not required, that if you are leaving toward Franklin to drop your trash at the Highland Road Recycle Center on the right just past a yellow sign for WindingStar Gardens Nursery about 4 or 5 miles down the road.

10/10 stay! A wonderful place for an engagement if you’re thinking about bringing your special someone here to pop the question. The views are incredible, the area is private, and is the perfect little getaway.

The house was beautiful and secluded. But the final part of the journey was a bit much for our car.

Cabin is cute and view is great. That being said streaming kept buffering or would go completely out. Satellite didn’t work as instruction’s stated. Internet was one bar awful.I can see why there are so many dvds. Hot tub jets were not the best. A warning about the gravel road and how high and twisty it is would be nice. Our tires skidded more than once with rain. Scarey! Called and emailed owners about satellite tv never got a response. Not Tons to Do in area either. Did find some good restaurants in Franklin. Beds are comfy and lots of towels and blankets.
