About this apartment rental

A private upstairs studio apartment attached to private home with its own pathway and private entrance. The hideout sits on top of a garage, so is private. The most comfortable bed you will ever sleep on! A pillow-top Sterns and Foster Cal-King mattress, soft, comfy linens and comforter, full bathroom with shower, toiletries and hair dryer, toiletries and kitchen. Balcony with umbrella table and chairs. Perfect get-a-way for any person/couple looking for a place close to the beaches (on east side of Highway 101, a three min. drive to the beach in Leucadia!
Local things to do: Relax on the beach, surfing, boogie boarding, walking the local beaches, bicycling on Famous Hwy 101, golfing at world renowned courses, hiking the beach reserves. Local delicious food restaurants, coffee houses, winery and pubs. Lots of shopping in funky Leucadia and Old Encinitas.
The Leucadia Beach Hideout has a large flat screen TV, faux fireplace, free Wi-Fi, dresser, desk, coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, stove, iron and board.
Your own private outdoor washer and dryer, a surfboard rack. We provide beach chairs (2), boogie boards(2), beach towels, beach umbrella. No actual beach view but enjoy the beautiful sky sunsets on a balcony that faces west. Natural beach breezes!
Sorry, no pets , no smoking in the hideout or on premises, two people maximum spending the night. A perfect, spacious, safe and comfy studio in Leucadia!

This is a good location for a 2-3 day stay, there weren't any extra garbage bags so it was a bit difficult being there for a week. All the spices had expired in 2017-2022 including honey and other cooking materials, when you walked in there was a smell like no one had been up there in a while to air it out or potentially mold. Not a bad location, quite, private.

My wife and I stay for one week in June. Beautiful upstairs studio. Very comfortable king bed. Well equipped kitchen. Nice, large walk-in shower with control knob accessible before entering shower, which is a plus.Very quiet without any noise from neighbors. Can hear passenger train nearby , but not bothersome or intrusive.Parking nearby on street. If returning later in the evening may have some difficulty finding a spot on occasion(twice during out stay).Very good entry and exiting instructions from Debbie, the host.Would stay here again if in the area.

We had a great stay at the Leucadia Beach House. Everything was very clean and tidy. The owners provided lots of amenities including some snacks, k-cups, and lots of things to take to the beach. We would definitely stay here again, as it was only about a 5 minute drive to the beach. Walking was possible but would have taken a bit longer due to the train tracks. Great location and great owners.

This quiet, well stocked unit is a lovely comfortable place to stay near many beaches, and casual good restaurants. The host is very kind and responsive. We love that we can pretend to be residents in a non touristy spot but still be close to local beachs and restaurants.

Everything was just as the description and pictures portrayed. Location was perfect. Everything we needed was already in place. Debbie was quick to reply & gracious too! My husband was so thrilled with the size of the Casita and beauty of everything he kept asking; 'Why we hadn't done this before & when can we come back?'.

When we walked through the gate and down the tropical plant bordered path to the hideout, then up the stairs into this cozy, roomy hideout we knew we’d made the right choice for our stay. We loved everything about it, all the personal touches, like tiny scissors in the basket to cut tea bag pouch (!), extra TP, foaming hand soap, lotion, lots of spices, impeccable instructions for every possible problem, immediate responses by owners for any questions. It’s very clean with a comfortable bed and roomier than it appears. The location in this fun beach town was a plus. Mid way between San Diego and Temecula wine country. We will be back!

This property was perfect for my self led writing retreat. I was greeted with bottles of water and gluten free crackers (I’m always hungry after traveling, and it seems nothing is GF), slippers and gentle breezes flowing through the large studio. The full kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to cook myself a few meals. The owners take pride in making you feel comfortable, encouraged to relax and soak in the hippy vibes in Leucadia. A beach town where people were always walking with dedicated walkways in the street. A slower pace of living, where people look you in the eye because they genuinely want to know, “How are you?” You could walk to places near this hideaway, but probably a bit better to have a car. Leucadia has tons of choices for restaurants. This location was incredibly quiet, and felt like a sanctuary. Loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Beach Hideout. It was very clean and comfortable. The owners were responsive and friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed during our 2 week stay. The studio was fully stocked with everything we needed and even provided coffee, creamers, water and snacks!

We love Encinitas so this location and rental checked all the boxes. The bed is a King which is a must for us, there is a gas stove and it is quiet. All of these features made our visit just right.

This is such a relaxing, beautifully designed rental. The kitchen is very functional and stocked should you want to cook alittle. It is quiet, private and close to many good beaches ( short drive, not walking) and lots of fun places to eat. Also a nice neighborhood uphill to walk in. (Leucadia has still got a nice funky beach town vibe but I relish the day they make it a little easier for pedestrians.) This is a perfect place for a relaxing beach getaway.

It’s a lovely space and very comfortable and attractive. One should note the walk to beach is not quick and definitely not easy to find. No orientation in all the in-room info how to walk to beach from property. The kitchen is fabulous and fridge is large and empty so it runs all night kicking off occasionally…not good for light sleepers. Other than that, we had a good stay.

We had the pleasure of staying 8 nights in the "Hideaway," which is much more spacious than you'd expect from a studio. It was extremely quiet and offered excellent privacy. Despite some warm weather, we chose not to use the AC because of the wonderful flow of air through the unit. The kitchen is bright and well-equipped, and the tv is user-friendly. Easy access to Encinitas, Leucadia, Carlsbad, nearby beaches and I-5. The hosts are very pleasant and easy to work with.

Inviting, comfortable and clean studio apartment. The online pictures are accurate. Everything seemed well thought out for what you might need when vacationing away from home. The kitchen was well stocked with kitchenware and appliances. The bathroom sink was designed with a little extra counter space which you do not see in a lot of rentals. The neighborhood is quiet and was enjoyable to drive through. Thank you to the Debbie & Travis for their hospitality.

My husband and I have stayed in a lot of homes and this was one of the best. It is sparkling clean, as advertised, and the hosts thought of every little detail to make our stay pleasant. There was bottled water, Peet's coffee, tea, cookies, chocolate, a fireplace, an iron and ironing board and more. The bed was super comfortable. The instructions to get in and check out were very easy. We didn't need to contact the hosts at all because there were zero issues. Quiet and spotlessly clean...we recommend this place.
