Funchal Village Studios

We had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend this property. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Funchal, with everything within walking distance. The apartment was exceptionally clean and finished to a very high standard, with excellent quality furnishings, utensils, and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were lucky enough to visit during the São Pedro festival, which created a wonderful atmosphere with live music in the evenings. There was some noise until around 10 pm, but after that it was peaceful and quiet, so it didn’t affect our stay at all. A special thanks to our host, Luis, who was incredibly friendly, responsive, and always quick to answer any questions. He made us feel very well looked after throughout our stay. We also appreciated the security cameras in the corridors, which gave us extra peace of mind. Overall, an excellent experience, and we would definitely stay here again.

The only small downside, for me personally, was the mattress. I have a lower back condition, and I found it a little uncomfortable during my stay. My partner, however, slept very well and had no issues at all, so I think this is very much down to personal preference and individual needs. It certainly wouldn’t stop me from staying here again, as everything else about the property was excellent.

Luis was a fantastic host who communicated the instructions for entering the property really well. Everything about check-in was seamless. And he was helpful with questions I had about getting to the airport at 2 am. The apartment itself was lovely. Everything was clean and modern, and I loved that there was a kitchen, so I didn't have to eat out for every meal. It could be a little loud at night because it's right above a plaza, but it was nothing earplugs couldn't block out and things didn't go super late. I loved that the plaza was right outside the front door (I highly recommend breakfast at Loft!). The location was beautiful, so close to everything, and as I didn't have a car, I was able to walk everywhere. I would absolutely stay here again; the experience was fantastic!

There wasn't anything I didn't like. But in the room I stayed in, I did have to make sure the door clicked to lock, otherwise I would find it open.
