About this house rental
The 'Castillo de Amber' is derived after the natural beauty of its namesake, translating to 'The Amber Castle' in English. This unique, 4-level, 6-bedroom rental villa is located in the central Manuel Antonio, along Pacific Canyon Drive--which is known for its gorgeous rental villas, easy access to restaurants and bars, and postcard views of the ocean and national park. Each floor has its own kitchen, living area and ocean-view balcony. The pool is huge, and has its own kitchen, barbecue and bar area (complete with stereo!). The surrounding rainforest is alive with wildlife, and its common to see all three kinds of monkeys, sloths, iguanas, toucans and other animals.
The Castillo de Amber consists of 4 levels:
1. upper/garage level:
El Congo (2 Bed / 2 bath)
- ocean-view master bedroom with ensuite bath (incl tub) and balcony
- ocean-view guest bedroom with shared bath
- great kitchen bar & dining area
- loft lounge with a queen sofa-bed
2. middle level:
El Capuchin (2 Bed / 2 bath)
- ocean-view master bedroom with ensuite bath and balcony
- guest bedroom with shared bath
- great Romanesque open-air living and dining area
El Perezoso (1 Bed / 1 bath)
- ocean-view studio with ensuite bath, double bed and balcony.
- kitchenette with small fridge, coffee maker, toaster and blender
3. lower level
El Titi (1 Bed / 1 bath)
- ocean-view master bedroom with ensuite bath and balcony
- private bath with shower
- comfy living area with queen sofabed
4. Pool Level:
- huge, ocean-view pool with fountain and loungers
- outdoor covered kitchen area with sink, barbecue grill, and ocean-view bar
- suggestion: hire a chef and server to bring tapas and drinks down to the pool!
Castillo de Amber comes with concierge service, daily maid service (MTWTFS), and night time security. Within walking distance are numerous well-known and delectable restaurants, such as Agua Azul, Cafe Milagro, Emiliio's, el Avion, Lush and more. Public transportation to the main public beach (Playa Espadilla) runs nearby every 30 minutes, and the trip is just 5 minutes.
For families, groups of friends, weddings and other holiday-goers, the Castillo de Amber is an ideal, central villa with 4 independent, lockable areas--all with ocean views and kitchens.

We had a family get together with 4 different families, 16 people in all. It was wonderful for each family to have their own spartment( space) as well as common gathering places Chef Michael was hired for 3 dinners, and the food was excellent. Vanessa, the concierge did a fantastic job arranging tours and drivers to and from the airport. The view of the ocean from the pool level was fantastic. The place was very clean. The air, Wifi and electricity all worked except some wifi connectivity problems in El Titi inside. Outside on deck wifi worked. Overall a wonderful week long stay for my family!

Myself and 8 others stayed here for my 49th birthday week, and it was exactly everything that the listing said it was!
Everything about the property was stunning, conveniently located, and Vanessa was such a kind and gracious host. She recommended many great restaurants and excursions for our group to visit and do.
At first, we were concerned that it might be not big enough for our group, but there is more than enough space for additional adults to join. Everyone was incredibly comfortable, had their own areas just sprawl out, and it was magical week for everyone who joined.
I would absolutely recommend this property and would gladly stay again in the future. Kent and Vanessa were wonderful and really helped to make this vacation memorable.

We stayed at Castillo de Amber for a bachelorette party and it was absolutely perfect. There were 11 of us and plenty of space. Views were so fantastic that they almost didnt look real. Walking distance to a bunch of restaurants and bars. Could also walk to the beach if youre up for a bit of a hike. Plenty of busses and cabs too. Would highly recommend.
