I loved that the apartment was right in the heart of the city. It’s very close to the iconic Santa Maria street sign! You’re only a two-minute walk from the wonderful Café Criolo, which has the most amazing breakfast and dishes — especially cachupa ! The area is super safe, and you’ll find plenty of nice local shops, gift shops, and souvenir spots nearby. It’s also not far from the beautiful beach down by Santa Maria, so everything is within a few minutes’ walk. The interior is beautifully decorated in an African style. It’s very clean and has everything you need, which I really loved. Since it’s in the city centre, you can hear people in the morning working nearby as well as some dogs—but that didn’t bother me. Still, I think it’s good to mention! The kitchen is well-equipped, and if there’s anything you need, you can always call Nany. Nany was very kind and helpful whenever we had any questions. She also runs a boutique on the ground floor of the same building, which was a lovely bonus!
