About this house rental
If you are looking to spend your vacation on the beach, then this is your rental! Check the location - you won't get closer than this. My large Maine 'cottage' was renovated over the winter of 2013 with new wrap porch, expanded kitchen, laundry, and first floor bathroom. It was renovated again in 2020 with two new bathrooms on second floor. New kitchen in 2025.
There are unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean and only a few steps away from the white sands of Gooch's Beach in Kennebunk, Maine. Ride the waves, explore the tide pools, enjoy miles of ocean front biking, surfing, walk to the playground, sign up for a whale watching trip or just relax on the beach. The property is a short pleasant walk to the well known Kennebunkport Dock Square and Lower Village areas, where there are plenty of shops, boutiques and wonderful restaurants to enjoy.
The house has a open deck for dining and sunning, as well as a large closed porch for chillier nights. The dining room, kitchen and living room on the first floor provide vacationers with plenty of space and ocean views from all rooms. Wake to the sound (and the view!) of the waves from any of the 4 second floor bedrooms. The master bedroom with queen bed has a in suite half bath. The second master bedroom has a king bed and full bath. The third bedroom has a double and a twin (ideal or family with young children) and the fourth has two single beds. There is a shared bath with tub on the second floor. The attic space is available and has beds for overflow guests or adventurous types.

We had a fabulous vacation in July at this amazing house. The location is perfect to stay in this area for hanging at Goochs beach and shopping and dining in Kennebunkport (walking distance). The house was fully stocked with everything you need for a great stay which was very convenient for us traveling up from Georgia. We would definitely rebook if we are ever bank in the area.

Beautiful home and incredible location. We loved being able to wake up and smell the ocean and hear the waves. Gooch’s beach is perfect for little kids! We all slept like a baby (even the babies!) thank you Pam!

We came to Maine to be together and remember the many years we had spent here with Mom/Nana. Between this house and the other one we used we had plenty of space to spend together. There was lots of flexible space, including a bedroom on the 3rd floor. Pros: incredible location. We have long enjoyed Gooch's beach and were delighted with how close it is to this house. The views of the beach from the deck and the porch as well as from two upstairs bedrooms are lovely.the eating space -- in the dining room as well as the porch & deck in the sunnier weather accommodated our family beautifully. It was very nice to have the small children outside so we did not worry about food spills on the dining room flooring.Living room space -- we gathered as a family morning and evening, and the space in the house was wonderful for the whole group. At other times we were able to take advantage of cozy smaller spots. The kitchen is well equipped.Downsides/suggestions:The bathrooms are unusual -- one en suite bathroom with a shower but no sink; another ensuite bathroom with no shower. The downstairs bathroom, as the owner noted, is having a problem with water seeping under the wood floor. This necessitates special attention when using that shower.Locks: (or the fact that there are none) I think locks on the bathroom doors as well as the bedroom doors would be helpful in having the small children not walk in unexpectedly. We made the decision to have the newlywed couple over at the other house.Expectation on clean up: Somehow we didn't see or didn't realize that we were expected to wash, dry, fold, and put away all the linens and towels we used. With all the work of packing up in time for a 10:00 am checkout, that was difficult to do. We finally thought of asking, and the owner told us we could leave the last load in the dryer -- getting as much done as possible. We LOVE having the linens provided -- makes packing incredibly much easier, especially for those who are trying to fit everything into a carry-on -- but needing to wash everything on leaving day is tricky.We all enjoyed the time immensely. Thank you!!
