About this cottage rental

The River Retreat has a peaceful setting on the Brazos River, allowing you to relax and enjoy the beautiful river view. A short distance to the Mammoth State Park, Cameron Park Zoo, Waco Regional Airport. 15 miles to Magnolia Market and less than that to McLane Stadium, Baylor University, Dr. Pepper Museum, Texas Ranger Hall of Fame, Waco Suspension Bridge, numerous eating establishments, nightlife, antiques, and tours.

Newly and completely renovated throughout, its beautifully decorated and very clean. Double oven, complete set of pots and pans, Keurig coffee pot, electric teakettle, toaster, microwave and dishwasher. Lighted covered parking, Large comfortable living area plus enclosed sun room. Large fenced yard perfect for outdoor games plus a fire pit for s'mores by the river.

Loved this place so much! So inviting and peaceful! My kids absolutely enjoyed it, they enjoyed the nearby creek which kept them pretty busy! Neighbor was very friendly also and let us use his property to access the creek! The aesthetic of the house felt so nostalgic yet so modern. Definitely would return!

This was the perfect property for our family. It was my husband’s first Ironman 70.3 and the home allowed him a great place to prep and recover from his successful race. It was really clean and Linda was wonderfully responsive. The home was cozy and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. All around it was an excellent place for us. Thank you, Linda!

My family and I needed a relaxing getaway! The house was perfect. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the river and fire pit. We grilled both nights and enjoyed the deck. The living room was very cozy. The sun room was fun and comfortable. We all slept well! We enjoyed watching the rain through the windows on our last day; it was very relaxing. We hope to return soon! We stayed here for our summer family vacation and it was beyond fantastic. The Retreat was amazing we made so many memories and had such a wonderful time,playing games,fishing ,floating in the river,laughing and just relaxing. What a great stay for our family! This retreat is a sweet, cozy cottage right on the banks of the Brazos River. It’s only a few miles from Waco but you’ll feel miles away from the world! The house had everything possible you could need. It is well appointed and was comfortable sleeping for 6. There is great outdoor space with a fire pit and chairs right by the river. We will definitely look to stay here again!

We really enjoyed the "River Retreat" It was a cozy home! Although it was a wet kind of soggy weekend ... My family got to enjoy quality time together. We sat around the dinner table and reminisced about family memories, watched a couple of movies together and my youngest grand-daughter taught us a card game her teacher taught her. That was alot of fun! Our Family Reunion we attended was GREAT!! Linda, We lost power at the house during the storm, in fact the whole neighborhood did on Sunday morning from 1 a.m. to about 5:00 a.m. It was so dark!!! KInd of eerie...It stayed on for a couple of hours and we lost it again. We packed with no electricity. It stayed off up until we left. Hope everything is good now.

This property is Amazing, its out of the way, very quiet beautiful river scenery. Great accomodations, everything was as described. Comfortable, clean, great improvements, I've stayed in a bunch of Vrbos this is one of my new favorites. Check and communications couldn't have been easier. The only negative I can put down is that we had to leave.! We're planning to come back. Thank y'all for a wonderful stay🙏🙌❤️

We were pleased to stay here during the eclipse in April. The home is setup with all the amenities needed for a convenient stay, and our host was very gracious and friendly. While we felt out in the country, everything was close enough to be a convenient 15-20 minute drive. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Love the amount of beds and space the little place provides. We couldn't lock our unlock the door when leaving but the neighborhood is very safe. Plenty of towels and equipment needed to have a good time. My kids (5 girls ) enjoyed the fire pit but disappointed in only 2 mirrors to get dressed. (GO FIGURE LOL) wife was kind of poor iff with a smell when first entering but it went away once we stayed a little. Overall had a great time and thank you for the opportunity to stay. PS They think the shower is amazing 😁

This was one of the most peaceful, rejuvenating places we’ve ever stayed! The house is beautiful and so tastefully done, with thoughtful details throughout. But the location on the river and surrounding nature was what was so soothing to our souls! Coffee on the porch in the coolness of early fall? A little piece of Heaven on earth! Will definitely be back when we can spend more time doing just that!

We have stayed here multiple times over the last few years. Nothing can beat the private access to the river and fire pit area overlooking the water. Our children (ages 9–18) beg to come here and fish every year! The yard is huge and perfect for games. The house interior and back porch are both so peaceful.

My daughter wanted to go to the Silos fot her 50 Birthday so I started looking for a cute small cottage on VRBO. Was very happy to find The River Retreat. The cottage was Adorable, very Clean, Comfortable Furniture & Beds. The glassed in porch Awesome, I actually loved sleeping on the bed out there my daughters tried to get me to sleep in one of the adorable bedrooms but I said No Way I really loved that area. We sat down by the river, enjoyed relaxing on comfortable back screened porch. Loved that it was located just a short drive from great restaurants and shopping and only 13 miles from the Silos. My 2 daughers and I were Very Comfortable and we fell in Love with this Charming and Very Comfortable lil Retreat❣ We want to go back to just relax and soak up the charm and let all the stress flow on by like the water of the river. The place was very clean and updated with nice countertops, flooring, and bathroom, new plush towels, water in the fridge, etc. it would have ben nice to have a toaster it toaster oven. There were two challenges. Not enough light in the living room to be able to read and very spotty internet in the house. Walking outdoors was better internet connectivity. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here while my daughter went to Baylor orientation. It took quite a bit longer to get to Baylor than anticipated. The property was clean, kitchen had just what we needed for a week of light cooking and the AC worked great! The host was very responsive to messages and extremely polite. Our phones did not work well most of the time there and the WiFi is sketchy. It made it difficult to plan our days prior to leaving in the mornings and the teenagers were less than thrilled. The River access was not what we thought it would be from the picture. The sun porch was nice for early rising parents to drink coffee while teenagers slept in. No one in my family was brave enough to use the bed in there overnight as there are no shades on the windows that surround bed.
