ENJOY THE PERFECT FAMILY VACATION OR GET-AWAY WITH FRIENDS! COMPLETELY RENOVATED HOME IN MITIWANGA BEACH - Gorgeous sandy beach; community tennis and basketball courts; private fire pit; wonderful community located between Huron and Vermilion. Free parking and no gate entrance fees for you or your visitors!

This cottage is just 20 minutes from Cedar Point, 2 exits from Kalahari water park and a one minute walk to the most beautiful sandy beach along Lake Erie. Quaint historic downtown Vermilion is just minutes away.

The home has four bedrooms and sleeps up to 12 people: the first and second bedrooms each have one queen/double size bed; the third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds (4 beds); the fourth bedroom has a queen/double size bed and one set of bunk beds. We provide the linens for the beds and the bath-towels. There are AC units and/or fans in the bedrooms.

The back yard has a large stamped patio, a private-enclosed outdoor shower and huge fenced-in lot with your own fire pit. Lots of privacy and space!!

We offer fall/winter/spring specials and will rent for long-weekends upon request.

This home was great and i highly recommend it, to anyone looking for affordable weekend getaway. The home owner was very sweet, even sent a delivery for smores the night we was wanting to have a fire at the beach. Great neighborhood, everyone was very friendly and kids love it was close to the beach.

Check in was easy, host was very helpful. I am concerned about the black mold/mildew in the vents of the window air conditioners, the 2-prong broken outlet in the first bedroom, and the floor in the upstairs hallway where wood is missing, but the nail is there and caught and ripped my friend’s son’s sock. It could’ve easily been an injured foot. The pillows were very uncomfortable and flat with stains on them. And, honestly, having to clean the whole house top to bottom with bed linens and towels washed, folded, and put away was very frustrating. I missed my 9 year old daughter’s softball game because I had to clean the house before 11:00 am. Most places ask you to at least start a load of wash, start the dishwasher (in this case everything had to be hand washed), and take out the trash.

Even though the weather wasn’t perfect, there was still plenty do do. The house had plenty of games and everyone had fun playing cards at the poker table. There is also great places to visit…. Vermilion, Marblead. Also, the younger folks were able to search the beach for treasures!

We initially rented the house thinking it was the house my husband lived in when he was little. Turns out the actual house was a couple doors down. The house is adorable, and was super clean. Jennifer was so easy to get a hold of and was absolutely amazing. There were also so many suggestions for restaurants and things to do that we jadnt tried before. It was so jard to leave to come home

The home comfortably accommodated 4 adults and 4 teenagers. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. The back yard/patio was great space. The beach was close and fun. The entire region was beautiful.

We were hoping to really enjoy this stay. And while we loved the area- the house leaves a lot to be desired. For starters we were locked out of the house on more than one occasion because “both the front and back door screen door latches must have been broken by the previous tenant.” We had to yank the door forcefully until it finally came opened. The house is very old- there is only about 1 outlet per room. The doors do not close completely or stick shut when they do. The full size bed in the first bedroom is nothing more than two old mattresses on top of each other. There is no boxspring and the top mattress is bigger than the bottom so you feel like you might roll right off if you move to far to the edge. In the other bedroom it feels like you are sleeping directly on a boxspring without a mattress, coils poking whenever you turn. While the property manager was quick to answer- her responses were lackluster. When we booked and were given prices there was a cleaning fee. We gladly agreed thinking that there would actually be a cleaning fee. A couple of days before the arrival we received an email that explained we would need to wash linens and towels- unexpected but we were okay with it. However when actually staying it was made clear thru literature on the property that if the tenant does not clean to a certain standard then they would be charged for an additional cleaning fee. Over the property was charming- but lacking.

Nice place. It accommodated everyone well and had plenty of room. Some of it needs a little updating (some outlets didn't work and the stovetop only half worked). But the check out expectations were a little much. To pay a cleaning fee and then have to do more than just picking up after ourselves was not expected.

We enjoyed the property and the area. An older lakefront community, very friendly folks and easy access to the beach, to Cedar Point, and to the lovely town of Vermilion. Giant Eagle, 10 mins away, was a good place to stock up on groceries. We tried Ghost Tree brewing in Amherst, 20 mins away. Good brews! Service slow and food not great, but would go back for just the beer next time. Had so much fun shopping in Vermillion on Main St. Tails of Vermillion was a favorite spot to get a new cat toy and Life is Good t-shirts… personalized to say “Vermilion, OH”! And the scenic lighthouse and cute public beach are just a few blocks from there, too. We enjoyed chatting w a volunteer at the small concession and art building at the beach. It is a charming town and easy to see why people love visiting or retiring there! Jennifer was responsive if we needed anything. We simply brought our own sheets and towels, including kitchen towels, for our group of 8, and avoided needing to do several loads of last minute laundry that way. There weren’t a lot of outlets in the bedrooms to charge phones, use a CPAP machine, but we made it work. One reviewer said there are 5 bedrooms and it’s true. There’s an extra room upstairs with a futon couch and a TV. It’s set up as an extra space for the kids to gather upstairs. We were pleased that tennis rackets/balls and a bags game and beach chairs were all included in the home, and lots more! Some in our party appreciated the MLB Network on tv.

The house is located in a quiet area within walking distance to a private beach. The backyard has a privacy fence and we enjoyed spending time out there when we weren’t at the beach. The kitchen had what we needed to make quick basic meals. We had to put the linens on the beds when we arrived and then put the soiled linens in the wash when we checked out but that was outlined in the rental agreement. There’s a very active train track nearby so something to keep in mind if traveling with light sleepers or children. We scheduled this trip last minute and Jennifer was very accommodating for an early checkin and late checkout.

The house was exactly as advertised, only a couple minutes walk to the beach, and right across from tennis and basketball courts. My family and I enjoyed our stay immensely.

Wonderful stay! Very clean large house with enough room for everybody. I traveled with my family and my brothers family to visit Cedar Point. It was about a 25 minute drive to the park. The beach was a just two minute walk away. Everything was great!

Finding flaws with the property or location would be challenging - very enjoyable. My sole complaint is with the policy of laundering bedding linens under threat of additional cleaning fees. Never have I encountered such a bizarre demand before. Not only is it uncomfortable having your sleeping cleanliness dependent on the prior guests, with 11 people in our party is it expected to set alarm clocks to wash & fold bedding to meet the 11 a.m. checkout?

When we arrived ir had been a very hot day. I couldn’t get the a/c working in my room—it turns out it was q combination of not being able to get it set right and also just taking time to work in the heat. But I was very Impressed that the owner had someone out to check the a/c and wifi first thing the next morning! That was very kind. This is set in a nice neighborhood, vey close to the beach, and also a convenient drive to the freeway. Try the amAngry Bull restaurant too.

Perfect house for a girls weekend! This adorable cottage was well stocked and had plenty of room for all of us. The decor is warm and welcoming and the miti koozies were a perfect gift from the landlords for our weekend. Fire pit and fenced in yard was great for late night fun. The house was impeccable clean!! We will be back!

We could not have had a more relaxing and rejuvenating time on Lake Erie in Mitiwanga! The house is comfortable, clean and has perfect space for a family and friends getaway! The beach is beautiful and easily accessible. The property owners are top rate, responsive and we felt like they wanted us to enjoy their home as much as they do. Family of 6 adults and 1 child had ample space plus a large backyard complete with fire pit and patio gave us room to stretch. House had bedrooms to accommodate the family but bedding lacked the firmness most required. Neighborhood was nice and friendly. Access to beach was fine, just a short walk from the house. Overall we enjoyed our visit.

Our family rented this home and instantly fell in love. This “cottage” preserves all the best historical charm of a lakeside home with newer amenities like a fire pit and outdoor shower. Our family’s 3 generations spent hours in the back yard playing corn hole, sipping wine and making s’mores. The front sunroom has a poker table which made for fun late nights! The beach is a quick 2 minute walk and is great. The neighborhood has a vacation feel to it with most folks being weekend vacationers. The house has a fun, warm and friendly decor! My kids love the rainbow colored steps and playroom. House was impeccable! We will be back!

Nice older home with some updates and lovely cheerful decor. The home had a well stocked kitchen with everything you could possibly need; as well as games, books and toys. The fenced in backyard was wonderful for the kids, the firepit was likewise wonderful for the adults. Water was high so there was not much beach area, but we found Nickel Plate beach, a nice public beach a short drive away. Jennifer, the owner, was extremely helpful and responsive and went out of her way to make the stay pleasant. I would give "Communication with Property Manager" more than 5 Stars if it were possible!

Upon entering the house we noticed immediately that it appeared to not have been cleaned before our arrival. Crumbs/food on couch cushions and in couch, food on floor, beer cans left on patio, kitchen counter filthy, pet hair covering the futon, peanuts on bunk beds, gnats and mold in shower. No overhead fan exhaust in bathroom. Couldn’t blow dry hair in bathroom because the breaker would blow so had to find alternate place to get ready that would allow hair dryer usage. Used shampoo/conditioner bottles left inside outdoor shower. Not all bedrooms had AC and it was hot! Only one outlet per bedroom to use fans some people had to sleep in living room to stay cool. Floor in kitchen, laundry room, and dining room felt like it would cave in when we walked in it. Owner replied to one email prior to our arrival but didn’t reply after we arrived. Tennis court was unkept with weeds growing in it. The only good thing about staying here was the sunset views from the beach. If we could get our money back we would! I’m not even sure if this place is legal to live in let alone rent to vacationers.

My husband and kids ALWAYS look forward to our vacation at Mitiwanga each summer. The house is spacious, clean and has everything we need. We use the patio for grilling, and the porch is great for family game time. We're close to shopping in Huron, Vermillion and Sandusky, and we love the fresh produce at the local farmers' markets. We enjoy the beach all day, but we always make sure to watch the beautiful sunset each night. I've been vacationing at Miti for over thirty years since I was a teenager, and now I'm making great memories for my kids!

My family had a wonderful week in the " yellow house". Close to the beach, shopping, marina and many fun activities for the children. Mitiwanga is a nice neighborhood, with many friendly people. My family loves to stay in "The Yellow House". It is close to everything we want to do at Miti...and close to family too! The home is so comfortable and has everything imaginable in the kitchen, a HUGE fenced-in back yard, a fantastic outdoor shower plus a bath and half inside, a great patio and grilling area out back, and a lovely enclosed porch in the front. We've stayed there two years in a row and look forward to going back. The owners are the kindest people you will ever meet. Please try it...but don't take our weeks!

We loved our visit to Mitiwanga this summer. This is the third year we've rented this property and just love both the house and the park! The house is equipped with anything you need. We enjoyed cooking out most days. The location is wonderful, as it is just a short drive to Cedar Point and Sundusky. We visited Vermillion several times and enjoyed the shops and restaurants. We love the beach and especially the sunsets. There are no words to describe the beautiful sunsets. We are looking forward to vacationing at Mitiwanga for years to come. We had a great week at the cottage. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. The AC is a big plus. Having a grill in the yard was wonderful for outdoor gatherings. Having two bathrooms is a definite plus. The cottage is always very clean when we start off our week. Also the cable TV and games provided, help on the rainy days. The beach, and tennis courts are very close. An awesome place to vacation!

The house provided everything we needed for a great family vacation. The house was very clean and comfortable. It was very short walk to the lovely, spacious beach. We were able to spend mornings and afternoons at the beach, and make the short walk back to the house any time we needed (meals, potty, etc.). The fenced in backyard provided a great place to cook out, and wind down the kids before bed. The owners stopped by to make sure everything was correct and answer any of our questions. They were a great source for restaurant recommendations, ice cream shop directions, and were to take the kids on a rainy day. Overall the house was exactly as described and more comfortable than we expected for a vacation rental. We enjoyed the week and plan on returning to Mittiwanga for future vacations.

Great house! Great Beach! Great Neighborhood! Why drive 10 + hours to get to the Gulf or Atlantic when Ohio has this gem of an area to offer. Our group had 4 adults and 4 young children all under the age of 5, and this house was perfect. The beach area is perfect for the little ones as the water is shallow and calm. The kids and adults both enjoyed the large fenced in back yard, and the basketball/tennis courts across the street. I could go on and on, can't wait to get back!
