Beautiful Home with Large Private Pool

Everything exceeded expectations and we'll gladly book Casa Manana again if back that way; however, I joined my family late and wasted well over an hour trying to find it with Bitzu Homes' totally misleading directions.

My family had a fantastic experience at Casa Mañana! The check in process was a breeze. The host met us at the house to go over everything. The house was perfectly clean and very well organized. We had everything we could have ever needed in the kitchen- including all kinds of spices for the fish we caught and bbqed! I loved the coffee machine that freshly ground the beans for each cup. My daughters thoroughly enjoyed the pool - and there were lots of pool floats for us to use. The beds were comfortable and pillows were GREAT! There were plenty of pool and bath towels for our group of 7. Casa Mañana was the perfect home base to come back to after all of our adventures for the week. We will be back!

Casa Mañana is in Guancaste in a gated community called Palo Alto. Very tranquil and safe!This property is immaculate! The private pool and jacuzzi are also refreshing. The rooms are spacious as are showers- comes with shower stuff and toiletries. Loved in-house laundry too! We were 5 adults and there was lots of room for all of us. We wanted to cook our own meals and there is a lot of cookware available to do that. We appreciated that the glassware was mostly plastic because you can take it out on the deck and not worry about breakage.The owner, Crystal is amazing and generous! She is so friendly and accommodating-it’s like you are a part of her family. She makes you feel welcome right away. Bitzu homes manages the property and a lady named Grethel will give you a rundown of the house and any rules to follow. If you are looking for a Tour Guide get Crystal to suggest Gus. He’s amazing and very fun. We used him to get to and from the airport and also did an excursion with him to Monteverde to Selvatura Park. Alejandra, a lady who does cooking classes also is a great choice with the property! This property is 10 mins walk to Playa Hermosa, the beach nearby. There is a great restaurant there called El Velero. The sunsets are spectacular there too. Lots of restaurants around Palo Alto walking distance. Groceries at Imperial about 5 mins walk from property. 24/7 Urgent Care Centre and Catholic Church 5 mins walk away. About a 10km drive away from the property is Coco Beach.

We had a terrific time in Playa Hermosa and the house is very impressive and clean. Our trip overall was very enjoyable, with the exception of the hot tub, which I will detail below. The people in Playa Hermosa and Playa del Coco were very nice and helpful, even with the slight language barrier. We actually spent more time in Coco because there is more to do there. What wasn't accurate was the listing (which was actually changed during our trip) for this house. When we paid to rent the house, it was listed as having a hot tub, both in the narrative description and in the listed amenities. Additionally, at least nine of the photos in the property listing show the hot tub, so it is clearly a feature for the home. Moreover, this was a significant factor for our family because my teenage boys were very specific that they wanted to hang out in the hot tub at night, which was the deciding factor in renting this property. Unfortunately, upon our arrival, we discovered that the jets for the tub were not working and the water was not heated. I emailed the owners about this situation and I was told, "Sorry for the delay, you should just have to push the button on the hot tub for it to bubble and circulate. There is no heat " The next morning I noticed a 100 gallon propane tank behind the pool house, so I emailed the owners about this and received the following written response, "Sorry I guess I should have chosen my words more carefully. The hot tub heat is turned off. Reason being is that there is a few steps to turn on the heat and then it needs to be turned off after each use. We had to lock the pool maintenance shed due to the fact that renters where also touching the pool program system and messing it up on top of not properly turning the heat to the hot tub off. I’m really sorry about that. I hope that doesn’t put to much of downer into your holiday." We were given no prior notice of this before our arrival, nor were we given a partial refund, or even an opportunity to pay extra to have the heater for the tub turned on. It was extremely disappointing to all of us, and yes, it was a "downer." The jets for the hot tub were broken, so they never worked during our stay either. My wife described the tub best, it's the largest bird bath in CR. I also note that the waterfall feature, mentioned as a feature now, only runs from 7 a.m. to noon, because the filtration system runs on a timer. I hope this review is not too much of a downer.
