Offering panoramic views of white sand and Gulf waves that stretch for miles, this beautiful home features spacious, covered porches on the upper and lower levels, 1,600 square feet of living space, and beach access mere steps away. The well-equipped kitchen offers a full suite of stainless steel appliances, and there's plenty of room for everyone at mealtime around the large dining table. If the weather is nice - and it probably is - dine alfresco on any of three picnic tables. After a day on the sand, rinse off in the outdoor shower and enjoy entertainment options at home including free cable, a DVD library, and free WiFi. More vacation necessities include central AC, a washer/dryer, and gas grill.
This Gulf-front home is a haven for beach-goers, cyclists, anglers, and birders. You can take a boat out to the 132-foot Sand Island Lighthouse, which sits roughly three miles south of the Mobile Bay entrance. The fascinating marine exhibits at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab at The Estuarium are six miles east, as are the wonderfully preserved Fort Gaines and the Dauphin Island Audubon Bird Sanctuary. Cyclists will also delight in miles of paved biking paths on the island - you can even bike to the ferry and ride over to Fort Morgan for a perfect day trip.

First off, I want to say the location of this house was amazing. Very close to the water. We loved the location. That being said, we did have a few issues during our stay. First thing was that the house was not super clean when we arrived. Mysterious brown smudges on the wall of the stairs, weird stains next to the toilet in one of the bathrooms upstairs, toenails on the floor next to the bed in one of the upstairs bedrooms. The second issue we had was the appliances were not great. The fridge seemed to be struggling to keep things cold. The dishwasher did not clean well, and we even found dishes put away (probably by previous guests) that were not at all clean. You had to completely wash your dish before using the dishwasher and then dry them when the dishwasher was finished since it didn't dry the dishes either. The air conditioning downstairs was not great either. Upstairs was noticeably cooler than downstairs. It also is worth noting that none of the windows have screens on them, which is a concern when you have small children in the house. We weren't able to leave the windows open since we had children with us. Part of the way through our visit, there was a storm and the power flickered. All fine, but even though the power came back on, the internet did not. It ended up being out for around 12 hours and even when someone from the internet company came out to repair it, the signal no longer reached upstairs, so the upstairs still had no internet connection. Not the owner's fault, but something to keep in mind. I will say the owner was very kind when I spoke to him about the internet outage. Overall, we had a great time on our trip, but a few things stuck out as a bit frustrating and annoying.
