About this house rental

Experience the West Coast of Vancouver Island at 'SurfSide Cottage' this is a lovely fully equipped ocean front three bedroom home. This home offers the experience of high bank ocean front with a 6 person j345 jacuzzi hot tub on the side of the cliff and also has a stair case access to the private pebble beach.

SurfSide features a contemporary style home with fir floors, cedar ceilings and an airtight wood stove for romantic nights. Relax on the deck while overseeing the ocean wildlife as this is the place to get away from it all! Take in the fresh ocean breeze and feast your eyes with the scenery.

For the active at heart one can hike the nearby Juan de Fuca Trail which is part of the West coast trail or one can also visit the Botanical Beach in Port Renfrew.

This home is rented at low season rates by the day, by the week or month from October to May. Shoulder season months are June and September and high season is in July and August. No monthly rentals in shoulder or high season.

Small 10 people weddings can be arranged on a case by case but additional insurance fee required.

IMPORTANT: Please watch the video on this site for the hot tub user guide. Also read the hardcopy manual located in the towel basket before using the hot tub.

Property is wonderfully maintained and the views are out of this world. Steps from the garage to the house are a bit steep for handicapped but definitely manageable. Property was clean, well equipped and the hostess Innes was a delight to deal with. We would definitely stay there again. thanks of your hospitality

This is an amazing property with beautiful views.There are ocean views from every room. The cottage is very clean and comfortable. It has everything you could need. The property has many outdoor areas to explore, including access to a private beach.There is even a hot tub for soaking after long hikes. The location is very convenient. It's close to many hikes and beaches, but only a short drive from town. We had a wonderful stay at Surfside Cottage.

Surfside Cottage is so comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The location and view is unsurpassed. We had a wonderful time and did not want to leave. A beautiful piece of property. It is in a good location in that Sooke and the hiking trails are an easy drive. Note that the second bathroom is accessible by going outside and down some stairs; a detail we missed in the property description. A wonderful vacation!

Very comfortable, very clean, well equipped and very well managed. The view from one of three decks is picture postcard! Relaxing in the hot tub while looking at the wonderful view is special! A wonderful place to relax and enjoy all the beaches and hiking of the southwest coast of the island. Hope to return!

If the posting on the VRBO site looks good to you, be prepared - the actual property is even better when you're there in person. Of all the vacation rentals that we have stayed in over many years, this ranks right up there with the very best. The amenities have everything that you could wish for - there wasn't a single thing that we could think of as being something that was lacking. The beds were really comfortable (we didn't use the third bedroom - but it looked like it would be fine for maybe teens or pre-teens). Communication with Ines was excellent - prompt & totally easy while still giving us privacy. As a base for exploring the coast as far as Port Renfrew to the north, as well as in the other direction to Victoria, this is an excellent location (you just have to have some patience with the Sooke traffic!) If you just want a spot to relax & "chill" with a "to die for" view, then you can't go wrong with Surfside Cottage. The decks & the hot tub provide a wonderful opportunity to watch the marine life & the shipping traffic; if you do get some west-coast rain, then the picture windows & the fireplace (wood provided) are a great (& cozy) alternative. We'd love to think that we might be back here again one day.

Our group of 4 adults stayed in this well appointed cottage. It was well equipped, clean and comfortable. There were lots of windows so not only was it light it presented fabulous views across Juan De Fuca bay. There were also plenty of outside areas to sit that had glass screens to create wind breaks. We saw sea lions and dolphins. Also had Bald Eagles fly over. Fabulous property!

We had an amazing time! The house was clean, well stocked, and the view could not be better. We saw orcas, seals, and bald eagles while in the clean, luxurious hot tub. The host responded within minutes when we had an issue. We went to Victoria and The Butchart Gardens one day and explored the beaches further north on the other days.I highly recommend this property!

My husband and I stayed here for a quiet honeymoon and we absolutely loved it. The spot is just gorgeous, with beautiful views of the ocean complete with lots of sea life. It's clear that lots of thought has gone into making the cottage as comfortable as possible, with everything one might need or want available and conveniently placed (towels and slides by the door to the hot tub, robes available in the bedroom, easy-to-use hot tub cover). I can't recommend Surfside Cottage strongly enough.

We had a wonderful week at Surfside Cottage. The view across the strait is amazing-saw lots of seals every day, huge flocks of birds and watched pods of Orcas go by twice. Once they were so close that we heard them before we saw them just feet off the rocks. Lovely outdoor areas and nice little private beach. The home is spotless and well equipped. It was a perfect home base for our exploration of South Vancouver Island. Thanks sharing your beautiful cottage!

This incredibly well equipped home exceeded our expectations in every way. We spent hours watching the variety of sea life out on the ocean and luxuriated in the hot tub every evening. I have not slept so well in quite a long time. This is a great place to recharge your batteries and reconnect with loved ones. We’ll be back!
