About this cabin rental
This quality, comfortable lake cabin is located nine miles from Hayward and is tastefully decorated with a Northwood's theme and has wonderful lake views. Knotty pine walls and ceilings throughout the interior create a wonderful 'Up North' experience. This excellent family all-season getaway or retreat cabin is just what your looking for.
The main level is an open floor plan that includes a great room and dining area adjacent to a very functional kitchen. The kitchen is filled with modern cooking utensils, updated appliances, dishwasher, microwave, and cupboard. The large counter island accommodates extra seating for five. The main room has chalet windows with a great panoramic view of the lake and firepit area. The newly replaced deck with see-through view also provides comfortable outdoor seating including a view of the lake and fire area. The main level has two bedrooms (queen beds) and a full bath. A large deck complete with a gas grill overlooks the lake and dock area. An attached 10x10 screened in porch is furnished with adirondack chairs creating a relaxing area to enjoy.
The lower-level family room has two double futons and a single chair/ futon sleeper, a woodburning stove, flat screenTV/DVD player, bar/sink area, and an under counter refrigerator. The lower level also includes a third bedroom furnished with a full log bed and a log bunk bed, a second full bath, and a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer. Lower level is a walkout to a large cement patio, picnic table, swing and a fire pit generously stocked with ample firewood. The wide and gradual steps to the lake provides access to a large, private dock and a sandy-bottomed swimming area.
This cabin is located on Placid Lake with boat access to Burns, Tiger Cat, McClaine, Upper and Lower Twin Lakes. Placid Lake is a 162 acre lake located in Sawyer County. Fish include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern and Walleye. Placid Lake is a clean, clear lake. Whether you have a pontoon, fishing boat, ski boat, canoe or kayak, all can be used to navigate these waters as you enjoy the natural beauty of the land and wildlife.
You will be conveniently located just minutes from several golf courses, a casino, restaurants, attractions, area events, and festivals. The cabin is a recreational paradise with many lakes nearby and snowmobile, ATV, hiking, cross-country skiing, and biking trails. Bird-watching can often be combined with a leisurely paddle on the lake. Experienced fishing guides are also available. It is a Harley Davidson rider's destination and makes a great base camp for all the great riding in the area. The cabin is located 3 hours by car from Minneapolis/St.Paul and 7 hours from Chicago. We have stayed at Doug and Gloria’s cabin five years and it surely does not disappoint! Everything you could ever need you will find in this cabin plus the paddle boat and kayaks! Sitting on the dock watching and listening to loons is so relaxing. Our family loves this cabin and have reserved for 2026 already! If interested, book quickly. The cabin books up quickly!

Almost perfect. Clean, well-stocked, and well maintained. Friendly and readily available hosts, not that we lacked anything other than a couple of restaurant recommendations. An absolutely wonderful retreat that afforded our extended family the opportunity to both play together and relax on our own when we so desired. It was our second visit in two years and we'll try to make it again if we can just our schedules to line up one more time. None of us are a fan of the seven hour trek (hence the aforementioned "almost,") but it's a very small price to pay for wonderfully relaxed environment we were able to escape into. Doug and Gloria, thank you!

This cabin is beautiful and inviting! You could not ask for anything more! Doug and Gloria have thought of everything a person would ever need when they furnished this cabin. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boat, pool table, fire pit and sat on the dock listening and watching the loons. Sure did not want to go home. Thank you Doug and Gloria for sharing your amazing cabin! This was our second visit and we will be back!!
