About this apartment rental

Stunning views of breaking surf fill the living room of this contemporary condominium. Situated on a bluff overlooking Hideaways beach, the two bedroom, two bath end unit boasts endless ocean views and an open floor plan. Incredible surfing, snorkeling and beach-combing are all readily accessible. A private tennis court and pool are part of the amenities at Puu Poa. Home is beautifully finished and furnished. Please note a $500 refundable deposit listed as a "Property Fee" will be included in the booking process. Within 24 hrs of booking, the tenant must send to the owner, copies of Passports OR front/back of driver's licenses with phone and email contacts for ALL guests 18 years and older. Our unit, like many residences on the island, doesn’t utilize an air conditioning system or central heat, if you have sensitivities to temperatures this unit might not be a good fit.

Overall the condo was amazing, 2 BD, Kitchen, 2 bath, great sunroom and balcony, right on hideaway beach. Being on the N. end of the island is very nice and quiet, great access and close to other great beaches and hiking. Only about 1hr from the airport which is nice. Hideaway beach right behind the hotel is a very nice beach, the pool is a nice afternoon resting place. Many good restaurants, close to stores and other activities. Great place, location, and planning on staying again. The owner made the whole process very easy.

Amazing location. On a cliff side overlooking the ocean. Beautiful views. Saw whales. It is the season. Watch surfers. On clear nights the stars were spectacular. The area itself is very nice. There are 2 beaches within walking distance- one easy to get to - the other is for the very fit. A very steep hill with rope supports. Short drive to the beach town of Hanalei which has a couple of nice restaurants, fabulous long shallow beach. The place itself is very spacious and well appointed. Lots of towels - beach and bath - large bathrooms, comfortable bed. Good closet space. Kitchen was well supplied. The expected basics were all there.Weber gas bbq which was well used for dinners. Large lanai with seating for 6. Good washer and dryer. Check in was easy. Had no reason to contact host so no opinion on responsiveness. All the initial instructions provided covered everything .Bottom line - we would return to this property in future were we to return to Kauai

Great value! Great owner as well. The property has all the beach stuff you need (chairs, umbrella, beach toys, snorkels, etc.) and the condo is located directly over Hideaway Beach (like directly). Amazing views. We would definitely rent here again and can't say enough positive things about it.

The property is in a great location above Secrets beach, great to hike down to so close. It’s practically next door to the 1 Princeville hotel that has gone through a complete renovation and it is beautiful. I look forward to my next stay at the beautiful condo, can’t wait!! It has nice accommodations everything you will need to sleep and play.

the owner took a while to accept our booking ~ but VRBO took our insurance money ~ that was scary. but it worked out i 2nd attempt. as we loaded our luggage in ~ a big Heavy piece of a palm tree feel right on our luggage. (i have a video) not the owners fault but theres a reason peopel pay good money to prune palms. we go in. NICE VIEW! And the. I realize. IT HAS NO AIR CONDITIONING I FORGOT TO CONFIRM AND IT’s Hooooottt IN THERE. No air flow and Kaua’i is getting hotter. (my fault) The REAL ISSUE IS ITS c+ level clean at best back room smells funky / mildewey Theres ground up piece of candy on the carpet. so we move the carpet. as we lift it UP all this dirt falls out. Then we notics all the carpets have sand and dirt. The cleaning lady comes back then i see ants all kinda stuff too much to over look. i call vrbo they put me on hold for 25 min no answer so tonight im paying for both: Hotel and condo. i DO see what people like about it but its a no for me. CLEANING can confirm I never slept there. own is free to reimburse me or not. i chose not to spend my shirt vacay arguing and waiting on the phone. again. NO for me.

What a beautiful location! Really incredible property directly above Hidaways beach. The views are spectacular and the condo was very comfortable and well equipped. It’s also the closest private residence to the 1hotel entrance, which is hands-down, one of the top luxury resort locations worldwide. It’s a five minute walk to world-class dining, and literally some of the greatest views anywhere. Hideaways beach has some of the best snorkeling on the island and is relatively low traffic, thanks to the steep path to the beach. It can be a little treacherous down to the beach when it’s wet, but my pregnant wife and seven-year-old made it down multiple times with no issues. Overall a wonderful stay and an excellent deal considering the value of this property.

My wife, her sister, and her husband stayed here for a week and we had an amazing time! Great location, very clean property, and the view is amazing! Plenty to do with the pool, tennis courts, and a hike down to a pair of hidden beaches. Hanalei Village is a very short drive away with plenty of shopping and places to dine/drink. I highly recommend a stay here. Whenever anything came up that needed attention, the owner was on top of it and was very good with the communication. 5 Stars! Aloha'!

We really enjoyed our stay here, the sunset view was amazing and the decor inside was very tasteful. There are a couple of beaches walking distance away (although hideaway beach is very steep) and we felt the North coast offered the most spectacular views on the island. We would definitely stay at this property again. The former St Regis hotel is being renovated down the road but we were not disturbed by any construction noise.

Very comfortable, spacious 2bd/2bth condo for family of 4 for 6 nights. Well equipped kitchen. Two beaches (Puu Poa Beach & Hideaway Beach) within 10 minutes walk. Easy access to Hanalei attractions. Lanai view is undeniably best feature.

We loved our time at this property. Spectacular views of the ocean right above Hideaway beach and just a few minutes drive from a grocery store and shops made this place ideal for us. As we entered Joe’s lovely home in Pu’u Poa, we were struck by the nearness of the beach from a satisfying elevation. The trade winds did not disappoint us, as we enjoyed their refreshing cooling impact every day. Being close enough to the water to hear the surf continually was so healing. The accommodations were so clean and comfortable, the kitchen perfectly stocked. We can’t wait to return. Thank you, Joe!

The unit was very spacious for our group of 4 adults. The buildings are a bit dated and several units were being remodeled (construction noise) during our stay. However the stunning ocean view easily distracted us! We practically had the property pool to ourselves most of the time. We were lucky enough to see TONS of whales and albatrosses from every window facing the ocean as well as the spacious lanai. Only serious down side to the property is the poorly lit stairs/walkway to the unit.

Joe's place was everything as described in the page. We arrived to a magnificent ocean view, and the hour leading to sunset was just amazing - both from the Lanai and the sunroom. Joe's instructions on opening the windows and doors asap helped reduce the heat/humidity when we arrived in the condo. The furniture was very thematic - Bali style, and very classy. Kitchen was well stocked. The bathrooms were tastefully remodeled, and definitely had the feel of a high-end spa. The slick laundry machines came in very handy toward the end of our trip. Bedrooms were great. The fan and leaving the windows open kept it cooler during the heat - an A/C would have completed the picture tho. Because it is a corner unit, from the kitchen one could see the ocean both on the side and through the lanai, giving it the feel of being on a cruise ship! We made a few minor comments and suggestions to Joe, and he was super-responsive and quick to spell out upcoming plans to update the Lanai tiles and walls, and some of the lights and switches. All in all, Puu Poa is a very high-end resort that deserves the premium price, and this condo was one of the best!

As a family of four on our first trip to Kauai, we were delighted with our stay at this condo. Princeville is a great pivot point for accessing the north shore, especially since the road to hanalei bay has limited access. The views from the unit were spectacular, extremely comfortable couches and beds, the kitchen had all the cooking accessories we needed, and we loved the window seat overlooking the ocean. The beach chairs and umbrella were an added bonus. Just prior to our arrival a closed sign went up for the hideaways beach trail but after observing others accessing the trail, we did as well. Guessing it is similar to the closed sign at Queen’s bath? It was very hard to leave this wonderful place, We will definitely be back!
